Good Piece. This is a great moment to learn about our Constitution and institutions, so that we can sustain them going forward.
I recall the courageous testimony of Lt. Colonel Vindman (during the former President's impeachment hearing) and the longtime Ambassador to Ukraine, a woman whose name escapes me. They both showed nuanced brilliance and integrity, about their work.
Not having the longstanding Ukranian Ambassador, as well as Mr. Vindman with their relationships and knowledge of the area, is a big loss, Now.
I agree with the results tonight. Mary, you always manage to brighten my evening & I thank you for that. Also for your honest contribution to knowledge we all need & benefit from. You shine a bright light.
Just finished reading Congressman Adam Schiff’s memoir, “Midnight in Washington,” which covers in-depth tfg’s first Impeachment hearing and the courageous and selfless witnesses (of the Ukraine/Burisma quid pro quo) who came forward, including Lt Col Vindman, Dr Fiona Hill, and Marie Yovanovitch.
Marc Elias is a true hero! He has a newsletter Democracy Docket and you can follow him on Twitter. He is tireless in his fight to save our democracy and he is one of the best advocates we could have. ❤️❤️❤️
Mary, thank you. I’m glad for your explanation. There’s a lot of work ahead, but if we want our democracy to heal we need knowledge and dedication. I’m feeling upside down not really understanding yet knowing the right and wrong of it.
I had never heard of this prominent advocate. Thank you for telling us this story. One can hope that the Democrats are much more capable and justified in defending the voting rights as the Republicans are in disabling them.
The problem with Youngkin and Virginia is that the people that voted for him knew exactly what they were voting for. We didn't get enough sane voters out to counter them.
Marc Elias is definitely a winner. I hope he knows he has an enormous amount of people supporting him.
Thank you Mary for speaking the truth & shedding light, on this honorable man's committed service to our nation.

Thanks for the education and inspiration, everyone!
I sooooo hope Vindman gets what he deserves. It was terrible what was done to him.
Great choice, and thanks for the information on Marc Elias, I didn't know he was such an asset to the Democratic process and party.

Thank you Mary, for shining a light on these good and courageous Americans. I will be following them on Twitter!
Excellent choices, all of them.

Somehow I missed all the stories on Marc Elias & all the work he's done to protect voting rights, contest the gerrymandering maps, etc.
I LOVED the lady in the grocery store calling out the selfish, thoughtless, not giving a shit about his constituents Gov. Youngkin in VA!

Bravo! Three wonderful winners this week and Marc Elias is truly Atlas to US Democracy
