So I was released from the hospital on two blood pressure meds and I haven't been on social media or watched any politics on TV per my doctor's orders!. I've asked my husband to respect my needs...not my beliefs. Mary has been a great source for the truth as well as all of her followers. We will get through this, but nothing and nobody is worth getting so sick over. I'm so sorry you experienced a similar situation. Why-ever it was done, it can now be seen to have been a big mistake. Garland should have appointed Jack Smith or some like him six months earlier than he did. Cy Vance should have run again for Manhattan DA — he would have won — and seen through the work he and his team had started. Fani Willis should have brought forth her indictments at the earliest opportunity, weeks before she actually did. Judge Engoron should have handed down his judgment at the end of December, not in mid-February. But, alas, these things and more did not happen or happened much later than they could have happened. All these delays have worked to Trump’s advantage — and we now face the very real possibility that Trump and his allies, including the six conservatives on the Supreme Court, will have delayed all the main legal actions until after the election. If Trump wins the election, the federal cases will simply disappear, and the state cases will have become irrelevant. As always, justice delayed is justice denied. It’s the Democrats what done it.

He made a good move by appointing Jack Smith, but he waited and waited to do that, only after Biden announced that he would seek a second term, did he announce the appointment. Thom's analysis of the "GOP Bad Faith Plan" to steal the next Presidential election is interesting. Like Trump's Jan 6 plan, the steps don't have to be legal. They just have to contain enough "grains" of legality for the unscrupulous to claim legitimacy. A coup is fast. Justice is slow.
The hand wringing over what's legal and what's not legal, in this plan, is irrelevant. If the conspirators are acting in bad faith, they don't care a whit about legality or honor or respect for the Constitution. Burke, I understand and agree with your comment. My concern is how can this “GOP Bad Faith Plan” be foiled? Biden declares martial law? Have the DOJ arrest the seditionists in the house if they try to overturn the election, again? Unfortunately, obstruction is unethical, but not illegal, which is why the Republicans have gotten away with it for so long. The Dems need to take the gloves off, but I think they have to stay within the law to ensure their actions are defensible.

Trump calling himself "a dissident" makes me want to throw up, all over him. I just can't handle this outrage.

Why did he need to declare his candidacy 721 days before the 2024 election, whereas in 2015 he declared it 511 days before the 2016 election? Why does he need 210 more days to campaign for 2024 than he did for 2016?
There are only two reasons for Trump to announce his candidacy this early.
1) To raise money early. But he has no greater need to declare his candidacy early for this purpose than any other candidate. Indeed, he already has the greatest name recognition and money-making machine in the country.
2) To create a shield which he could use to fend off prosecutors by declaring their prosecution a politically motivated witch hunt.
Trump’s need to run this early reflects his desperation to avoid investigation and prosecution. His campaign slogan should be, “Trump 2024: It’s the White House or the Big House.”
