Thank you. I needed this. Especially since the Kennedy Center was “hijacked.”

This man's tortured mind seems so live in such a dark place..as to block out any redeeming light of anything beautiful in his existence...and must deprive others of that light...accomplishments that offer pride, distinction, recognition of talents...years of solitary hours to.perfect one's craft....a craft designed to ultimately bring joy & pleasure to the world.

In a long established need to despoil....to dim the lights of beauty..he has , to borrow Deena Bowmans . colorful.word " hijacked" the Kennedy Center by usurping the chairmanship. ( King?) of this eminent gift to the nations Performing Arts. Someone wondered if he would resurrect Spike Jones, bells, whistles, kazoos... as his opening " tribute" to his newly.appointed katistocacy...the cabinet . Appears to.be decompensating right before our very eyes. For all our sakes...hope someone has a strong lock and hiding place for The Black Box!

I can't even call him a human being because he's so cold, nasty, vengeful and evil.

Expand full comment

Alas, he is human. Scary to think we are all a part of the same species.

Expand full comment

Pretty sure he's a demon. Smells like dead things they say. Behaves like a demon. Looks creepy like a demon. Is hateful and full of retribution and revenge which itself is a lie because he was investigated for the illegal things he did. Definitely need more laws to counter attack that horrible creature from Hell. Get him back where he came from.

He’s a maniacal narcissistic FELON. People are waking up. He won’t last long. He’s trying to kill us all.

That’s what human beings can certainly be and must, they must, we must conquer to evolve to a more angelic state of mind, closer to our creator. I’m convinced we have come to earth to learn and in this every process, we have been provided with the experience of living side by side with the opposite of what we are supposed to be and become ; to bear witness, to be horrified, to understand the difference between pain and glory. The world is crumbling around us, but we must not.

Lynn, I suspect there is a lot of jealousy involved in Toddler-Trump's stealing of a role he has no talent for and in no way deserves. Even with his current level of dementia, he knows full well that he is ignorant about the arts, so wants to prove to everyone, I think, that he knows something, though he will only prove he knows nothing and no matter what he does or says, everyone already is aware that he knows nothing. By the way, Spike Jones was an exceptional entertainer who brought a lot of joy and laughter to his audiences. Toddler-Trump could bring all the bells and whistles he wants but cannot get music from it and the only laughter would be laughter directed at himself. I am guessing any entertainment that shows up at the Kennedy Center will be shunned at other venues now.

Ruth...and readers all...

Please accept my apologies if I seemed to denigrate the one of a kind Spike Jones & his merry bunch in.any way. Was certainly not my intent....he was a magical magician in my memory book of Best All Time!. No one...no one walked away from an evening with Spike without a smile on his face...nor.a rich warm feeling in.your heart. Polar opposite of any " performance " don Juan in hell" could slither.through. Mea culpa!😔

Lynn, no apology needed. If Toddler-Trump had any talent, he might have brought bells and whistles and stuff, but he has none. I, too, grew up listening to Spike Jones. My parents both loved him and so we had his music around. Then, there was Dr. Demento in the '70s who introduced a whole new generation to his music. Toddler-Trump would appreciate none of it or think it a waste of time. I am curious what he will go to see at his new KC. Whatever it is, I will be sure not to ever go to hear it in the future. I bet he can't go to any of the performances or rather stay the whole time. Heck, he couldn't even stay for the whole Superbowl and he had every comfort and all the attention anyone would want. OK, except maybe the huge number of Eagles fans at the stadium. He clearly was so sure ahead of time, of what the outcome of the game would be that he got blown away, so he just had to leave. I also think he can't stay in any place too long before either falling asleep or zoning out. Dementia does that to a person. I saw that with my mom, aunt and grandmother. Hey, Spike Jones perked my mother up when she was down during her days of dementia.

Thank you for your kindness...again...and again..Ruth!

He is certainly incapable of doing anything...going anywhere...without the forgone assurance the lights, camera, action...will be solely on him...100% of the time! Hear he's awaiting delivery of two brand new 747''s to zip at leisure around the world. ...outfitted to meet his every whim...at tax payer expense. Brunch with " pootan"...quick hop back for a round of golf in Scotland where he raises the prices for the Secret Service who dutifully stay at his golf club. Charges to be sent sub rosa to one of his " charities" ( Melania's care & welfare slush fund).

...last but not least...a last shout.out to the magician man who could only fill our lives with zany music to make us smile...and give us a constant stage glow that all.is right in our beautiful America...kind...forgiving...and above all...freedom reigns for all.

Goodnight, Ruth...goodnight , Spike...good night, freedom lovers🤗

Lynn, well-said all around. Toddler-Trump has no idea when he is in the limelight now just how bad he looks. I can't see him, but my family has mentioned it. My sister also mentioned something I had not thought of before. Toddler-Trump is orange and has weird hair for a purpose. It might have been a mistake at first, but now it is, like Hitler's mustache, a signature look so he can't be mistaken for anyone else. I suspect that is true. Maybe we need a Spike Jones to not so gently mock this toddler-man and his toddler-playground as Jones mocked Hitler back in the '40s. It won't make them grow up, but it might make more people see just what they are.

Bob, good to wonder about the KC. However, if he changes the name, it will be pretty easy to change it back since people know Toddler-Trump has no appreciation of the arts or anything, not even himself these days and that will not improve over time.

Expand full comment

Out of all of the things he's done recently, this one shocked me the most. LOL-the word "Trump" and "culture" don't go together!

Expand full comment

Bob, it certainly does not look to be about "the arts" because Toddler-Trump would have no clue what the arts even are besides the Village People and the others who allowed him to use their songs at his rallies, not exactly top drawer. Toddler-Trump wants everything he can claim to be his own because like that toddler I have put at the beginning of his name, he is entirely self-centered and can't stand anyone opposing him even in the smallest ways.

Toddler-Musk is like that too, which is why they need a loyalty oath. Toddlers-Trump-Musk know well, though that they don't care about their oaths, so others may not care about theirs either, wither it is to this nation and our Constitution or to the toddlers themselves. That scares Toddler-Trump, but he is not sure yet what to do because he knows somewhere in his evil self that he can't do all the damage alone. he doesn't realize his minions will dump him as soon as they think they have enough power to ignore the American people and can 25th Amendment him. We'll see how that goes, but I am suspecting he won't make it much past the first year. His minions can't allow next year's elections.

Art. Saves. Lives. I spent my professional career in the arts, and a good deal of my childhood and growing up as well. I believe in them with all my heart. They are the quintessence of humanity. Everyone has the ability to create something, and now, more than ever, it is essential that we pursue and express our something. It grounds us, it connects us to one another and to spirit and to joy. Without it--well, I don't want to know.

I’ve always believed in the idea that the human race could sing and dance (and probably paint) long before we could talk. Our core cannot therefore be dismissed.

Mary, thank you for emphasizing the importance of art and music as well as literature in creating a balance to help us confront the evils which threaten to destroy society. Let me recommend for your listening pleasure Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto and others performed by Julia Fischer of the Munich Conservatory. Not to be missed is a digitally rendered tour of the prehistoric murals featuring ancient animals on the walls of the Grotto of Lascaux, France from 25,000 or so years ago. That humans would create such majestic art so long ago is a testament to that of which we are still capable, with due reckoning to the dark powers trying to tear it all down.

Mary-What he did to the Kennedy Center hit all of us who grew up watching the honored each year and who were raised with respect for the arts. It was particularly a gut punch because it was an act of pure hate and revenge with no genuine political motive. I could not help but think of your stories of your grandfather bullying your father and your uncle. DT is a bully on a world stage, wrecking everything in sight with abandon because he suffered four years of believing he might go to prison for crimes he knows he committed. As someone with a degree in opera performance, I was knocked down and out for several days. Then, I remembered why that memorial to Kennedy was built. He knew that art is the first sign of an emerging civilization and necessary to its stability. I began to write about this, and fill my social media page with the art that I collect. It brought me back. I remembered what we are fighting for. The bully has let Musk take all access to the US government’s kompromat on DT. DT can no longer control the monster he has created in Musk. The cavalry is us. There is work to be done.
