Donald has finally found guilty of criminal contempt after attacking witnesses. And there’s even more good news: Fox faces a major lawsuit and Kari Lake’s Senate race was dealt a major blow.
In a new video interview, I speak with legal expert Jen Taub, who explains not only why today’s ruling showed Donald could land in jail before the 2024 election but also why this conviction may have just cost him the election!
It’s been a long few weeks, and I think we’ve all felt the toll taken as the New York election interference trial continues to unfold.
This morning, I was initially disappointed when I heard that, even though Donald was held in contempt on nine of the 10 charges he faced, he would be paying only $9,000 in fines. But then I read Justice Merchan’s ruling, and after I spoke with legal expert Jen Taub, a much different picture started to emerge.
1. Donald is found GUILTY of contempt and fined $9,000, but Merchan goes even further:
In a long-awaited decision, Justice Merchan has finally found Donald guilty of violating his gag order, including making public statements about potential witnesses, jurors, and others involved in the case.
After imposing the fine, Merchan himself lamented that New York law prevented him from making it a higher amount:
“While $1,000 may suffice in most instances to protect the dignity of the judicial system… it unfortunately will not achieve the desired result in those instances where the contemnor can easily afford such a fine.” Merchan said. “Because [I] can’t impose a fine of $2,500 or $150,000, “jail may be a necessary punishment.” (emphasis mine)
Merchan further warned, "Defendant is hereby warned that the Court will not tolerate continued willful violations of its lawful orders and that if necessary and appropriate under the circumstances, it will impose an incarceratory punishment."
Donald was also told to remove seven problematic Truth Social posts and two campaign website posts by 2:15 this afternoon, which he did.
The next gag order hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning, and prosecutors will present their case that Donald has committed four other breaches of the gag order.
2. Why Donald going to jail and losing this election may now become a reality
Today I spoke with Jen Taub, who offered her expert insight into the legal turmoil surrounding Donald and why he could be jailed before the 2024 election.
Not only that, but today’s ruling alone could easily cost Donald the election; he’s officially now a criminal. How?
Don’t miss the answer and video. THIS is good news…
