The momentum and pacing in the run-up to the finish line on November 5 is like a horse race. Harris is well disciplined and will pace her increasingly forward momentum for an energetic break-out 2-3 weeks before election day.

So many republicans have forgotten just how miserable every single day practically of the Trump presidency was. Every day, day in and day out we couldn’t get away from the narcissist’s constant demand for the spotlight. It was exhausting. It was even exhausting for them.
We’ve had three and a half years with a true administrator in the Administration. Quietly just doing the job, making things better for the country and just letting the rest of us live our lives. And it’s been very good.

I was more afraid of violence following the election. Hope so much that will be avoided with a clear cut Harris victory. If it does break out, I'll be like Lord Montgomery: "We'll either be alive here, or dead here."
Absolutely afraid of that violence as well. But I also simply don’t want to be on this planet under the rule of a hack and a dictator, and watch democracy crumble. I had to go ahead and fly my Virginia state flag in response to all the TRUMP and Confederate flags in my town. Imagine Mormons flying Confederate flags! This is after twenty years of confronting the future MAGAts over things like shooting deer and leaving it to rot within 200 yards of my front door, light fingers,speeding in vehicles, and young(twenties) men threatening my father(seventy at the time) over their early A.M. partying. Why are people so negative re Dem victory. Biden won very handily in ‘20, and has been the best president ever. How could he have lost with that track record? Obama chose him for very good reasons.

If the former president keeps addressing the VP as Kamala, she needs to call him Donald. That subtle power move he plays needs to be flattened. He’s just another Donald. He doesn’t trump anything. Language matters.
Agreed, but it's not that he calls her Kamala, but KaMALA which is not how you pronounce her name. She should start calling him donOLD, emphasis on the OLD.

We should have had a Madam Pres in 2016 and if it hadn’t been for James Comey we would have. I should say YOU would have, I am not a US citizen but every other country is affected by the quality of the US president.
I’m hoping that Madam K Harris will favour Canada since she spent her high school years at Westmount High, just a few doors down the street from where I am living. It is a great multi ethnic high school, having many distinguished grads. Such fun and a bit ironic that one of the very most distinguished is US VP Mme K Harris!

The momentum and pacing in the run-up to the finish line on November 5 is like a horse race. Harris is well disciplined and will pace her increasingly forward momentum for an energetic break-out 2-3 weeks before election day.
In the meantime, she will enable Trump and Vance to slosh through their blunders and continue to antagonize one group of the electorate after another as Trump's hard-core base of cult fanatics continues to peel off due to increasingly offensive comments and positions that even they are turned off to, such as Vance's recently revealed comment that the rape of a woman is a mere inconvenience to society if she can be compelled to give birth to the rapist's child.
The more that we hear from and read about JD Vance's dark entrenched beliefs, the more the American people will be repelled by the thought, given Trump's aging and failing mental condition, that Vance is only a few heartbeats away from becoming the President of the United States by default.
As a woman, I find Vance's comment about rape to be over the top. He must not have a heart or a soul. He clearly doesn't care about anyone other than himself. I'm surprised that he managed to marry and stay married. I hope the cult really is peeling off from trump.
I'll be honest. While it doesn't exactly scare me, it does make me exceedingly curious regarding why the media seems to be missing the fact that donOLD and ShadyV seem unafraid to not only alienate, but outright insult major sectors of the electorate. And the Republicans don't seem to be trying to distance themselves from it either.
So one naturally wonders why politicians would do that. I know donOLD can't help himself, but surely ShadyV knows better. And if he doesn't why aren't more politically savvy people in the campaign clueing him in?
I think the ShillBilly really, truly believes that women are to be treated like second-class citizens, like farm animals. His mother was a drug addict and because of how he may have been treated as a kid, deep down I do believe Vance hates women with every fiber of his being.

He gets the confidence to insult and demean women because, in his mind, women do not deserve respect. So to him "women are a different species" is as true as the sun rises in the east...and he doesn't need confidence to state his "truth"; he really believes it.
Anne, you're missing my point. It doesn't matter what his personal confidence is to state his "truth", his "truth" is insulting a major portion of the electorate he and his fat oaf partner NEED to even hope to get close to a win.
And it isn't just him. The Republicans in general seem to have no concern using the dogwhistle "DEI hire" which is insulting to the minority community, so WHY are they so confident it won't hurt them in the election?
THAT'S the point. This is NOT good politics, and if you're currently falling behind in the polls, and you're also not gaining any ground with swing voters, WHY do they collectively not seem concerned about the rhetoric that is sending people in droves to either vote for VP Harris, or not vote at all?
And why aren't they telling ShadyV to cool it with the rhetoric. This is not how one wins an election. And even if he's like his nominee partner and just can't help himself, why aren't Republicans trying to tone down his rhetoric, or at least distance themselves from it?
That's what's concerning me. They, to a person, don't seem to have a problem turning off a major portion of the electorate in a year in which they not only want to capture the White House, but also keep the House, and regain the Senate?
Possibly because they know (or think they know) they have an ironclad plan in place to simply steal the election, no matter the voting results? Just a guess...
I agree with others here that widespread plans by Republicans for election cheating are already in the works. The criminal running for President and his thugs seem confident the plans will succeed in somehow wrecking the election.
Mike Johnson, the current highest ranking Republican actually in office, very explicitly did tell them to cool it with the rhetoric and to focus on "the issues". The Trump campaign, such as it is, has so far ignored him.
Remember that trump has been saying this very strange thing since New Hampshire in October, 2023:
“So we have to be careful, you gotta get out there and you got to watch those voters. You don't have to vote, don't worry about voting. The voting, we got plenty of votes, you gotta watch."
trump is convinced that the rigging he has relied on since 2015 and 2016 is already in process for votes for him.
I would bet that some of the discussion trump had when he met in DC with the congressional republicans was how the possibility will work of a contingent election in which the House of Representatives decides on who the president will be. And this, along with inserted pro-trump local election officials, is why trump thinks he already has the votes he needs. And why he can openly say “I don’t care about you.”
Perhaps not cluing him in, because they don’t have the eyes to see. As well as the fact that DT can not handle truth in any measure. He will disown them, and then go after them.
Perhaps he is really on our side and is trying to make sure Donald loses! That would make for a good story and a good outcome.

Up to now there hasn't been anything that was too much for the Republicans with regard to whatever Trump said or did. Vance is carrying that insanity to brand new heights. His violent hatred of women seems quite psychotic and I wonder if what he's been saying about them is finally going to be enough. If he gets his way The Handmade's Tale will be mild compared to what he wants to do.

I totally agree with you Mary. I'm so glad to be another happy member of the Democratic Party. My mood has flipped 180 degrees in the last two weeks. Let's go folks and do whatever we can to get people to the poles, and don't forget down ballot candidates and local issues as well. I thank all my fellow readers. Yes! Local and state elections matter a lot. School Board and Election Board battles that have been making national headlines these past years show some of how much these elections affect everyone’s daily lives.

So many republicans have forgotten just how miserable every single day practically of the Trump presidency was. Every day, day in and day out we couldn’t get away from the narcissist’s constant demand for the spotlight. It was exhausting. It was even exhausting for them.
We’ve had three and a half years with a true administrator in the Administration. Quietly just doing the job, making things better for the country and just letting the rest of us live our lives. And it’s been very good.
But we haven’t been super inspired. We’re relieved. We’re thankful. But Joe Biden has never been great at inspiring the American public.
NOW WE ARE INSPIRED! We won without it in 2020. It seems pretty unlikely that with all that Trump does and says and his record, Kamala Harris could get fewer votes than Joe got. Seems pretty likely Trump will get fewer though.

Trump’s two smokestacks in his Georgia rally entrance resonate VERY authentically with the classic entrance spectacle put on by “Oz The Powerful” [also, a Humbug and B.S. artist] in the movie, Wizard of Oz.
