Im loving this blue wave. So many are coming to our side to fight fascism and DonOLD. Thanks Mary for your tireless efforts.

Kamala's extreme popularity and the enthusiasm for her candidacy sure have sent Trump and MAGA world into extreme desperation. The Big Blue Wave can no longer be stopped.

Trump is in trouble, he goes to Atlanta to have a large crowd to try to one up Kamala. Ends up criticizing Gov. Kemp because his wife won’t endorse him and talking about “mask mandates” Meanwhile, there were plenty of empty seats. 🤣

Kamala is gaining popularity and she’s getting real good on the stump!

A few days ago someone posted this "Kamala removes stubborn orange stains" shirt in the comments section 👇

https://libtees-2.creator-spring.com/listing/votek

So I ordered that shirt and it arrived yesterday! I’m going to wear it out by November 5 🤣

Whoever made this, thank you! 👍

DJT fears women and seeks to humiliate them. He hates people of color--as did his father-- and wanted to kill at least five of them AFTER they were acquitted. Kamala Harris is his worst nightmare; a high-status woman with real accomplishments with intelligence and dignity. He's regressing.

20 years as prosecutor and her achievements in that role are remarkable. Can’t wait for a debate!

The trick will be to trump Trump in a way that will cause MAGAs to doubt DT and turn to her with assurance.

It would be too easy just to squelch him and gloat, he has antagonized Dems so evilly but I’m confident she can take the high road.

Except please don't fall for the NYT trumpist call for "debates". Unless Trump is subjected to mic cutoff, no audience, real time fact checking -- which last is nigh impossible in his Gish gallop, unless the moderator is willing to cut him off every single time --and not anything to do with FOX, no debate. Never never never give him a forum where he can break the rules to his advantage. Democrats never seem to get this: the other guy cheats at everything. There is no good faith. Don't be Charlie Brown to Lucy's football

Kamala has already turned down Trump’s demand for a debate on Fox. She has said that she plans to show up on the scheduled date at ABC and debate. With or without him. She’s not going to let him call the shots. I can’t tell you how giddy that made me when I read it.

And you can be sure he will show up on fox by himself

I've thought he looks rough and aged. Well he is 78. The stress he is under has to be aging him. He is afraid he will go to.jail if he loses the election. No matter what he does some courts are corrupt and break laws for his benefit. He will steal the election if he doesn't win. The guy should have been thrown in jail Jan 6, 2021. Thank that bustard mitch McConnell another traitor.

Sociopaths don’t experience stress like ordinary people experience stress. 90% of what stresses a normal person has zero affect on him. Imagine you and your dog are on a road trip and you’re almost out of gas. The next sign you see says “next services, 35 miles.” You and I would naturally feel some stress about the situation. The dog is oblivious. Trumps like the dog. He doesn’t think far enough ahead to be worried much about the future. Aociopaths are creatures of the present. They live in the moment. Like animals. Like predators.

This is also why he would thrive in prison. He’d still be a big shot in prison, able to run the place like Big Paulie did in Goodfellas. He’d adjust and sleep like a baby every night.

Andrew, excellent points. The silent mic, lack of audience, “neutral” mods are all essential for a somewhat fair debate. As far as neutral mods, I’m still POd at Tapper in particular for lackadaisical rule enforcement.

Expand full comment

Tapper was such a milquetoast...he should have cut the mike when Trump started blathering. Rachel Maddow or Mehdi Hassan would have had the personal power to run the debate as it should be run.

Expand full comment

As to Rachel Maddow, I first discovered her when she was moderating a debate, don't remember which one. I watched her, asked, "Who IS this woman?!" and have been a big fan of hers ever since.

That 'good people on both sides' crap is for the birds! This debate business is beginning to feel like so much bread and circuses. With modern technology, there's no reason they have to even be in the same building, much less the same room. They could be in separate cities!

Then when tRump's mic is cut off, Kamala won't hear anything, even if he does run his mouth while she speaks.

And while we're at it, each candidate needs a lot more time to finish speaking about whatever policy or plan they want to elaborate on. It's an absolutely ridiculous format for enlightening the populace about policies to confront dire and life-threatening conditions worldwide.

Expand full comment

As Lawrence O'Donnell recently said, the format of these debates has absolutely no relevance to anything a president actually needs to be able to do. It's all just strictly for show.

Expand full comment

I thought they could lay out their platforms and promote them?

Expand full comment

That would be good for a change. Instead of just arguing with each other.

Expand full comment

Let’s start a trend!

Expand full comment

You’ve hit on something. Let them not be in the same room or even building. Then when he begins his bloviating bluster and lies, nobody has to listen to it. He can run his mouth all he wants, to zero effect. Seems only way to guarantee proper respect to Kamala Harris. Not to mention keeping my blood pressure down. Anyone have connections to send to her campaign? My guess is he will be at Fox News doing his usual “whine and cheese show”, and she will be at ABC talking truth, policy and leadership.

Expand full comment

Ha! Whine and cheese!

Expand full comment

Anybody remember a very old (I’m old) Saturday Night Live skit about this couple named “Wayne and Wendy Whiner” ? They whined about their diverticulitis and everything else. I’ll have to look for it on YouTube. DT is a whiner, and he’s completely full of cheese, nothing of substance but tacky cheesiness. No offense to cheese.

Expand full comment

Seems it was Doug and Wendy Whiner.

Expand full comment

I heard that CNN decided not to fact check Donald due to staff and time constraints. Given that he spews lies as fast as he can speak, who could keep up with him?

Expand full comment

Doubt it. The owners of CNN have been forcing their anchors to move away from the journalistic standard of neutral reporting to a biased right wing approach to news and truth. Wolff Blitzer has resisted. They didn't need to fact check all his lies. A few would have made the point.

Expand full comment

How do you fact check nonsense about Hannibal Lecter and electric sharks or whatever it was? 🤣🤣

Expand full comment

Trump speaks like a fool.

Expand full comment

What you "heard" is nonsense. trump wouldn't even have debated Biden on CNN if they had fact checked him. He already knew it would be a softball so called "debate."

Expand full comment

😆

Expand full comment

For a fair debate the participants must be honest and actually debate positions and policies. Trump will never do that. Debating him is as useful as debating a poop slinging chimpanzee.

Expand full comment

I think Dems should decline debating on Fox news. That station spews maga vitriol.

Expand full comment

No debating on Faux News by Democratic candidates, why would they stoop to be on the “Alternate Facts Channel?” When a “News” source is devoted to The GOPutin Party, and supports a convicted felon for President, who also is known for being a serial liar, it is not in the interest of a fair and honest setting for a debate.

Expand full comment

It has to be more than mic cutoff because those in the room can still hear his blather. That was a contributing factor to President Biden’s performance in the last debate.

Expand full comment

We've never had a sociopathic liar like Trump running for president ever before. Moderators are not meant to be fact checkers because they are journalists who must be perceived by the audience, & the public as unbiased and politically neutral. That is the only way debates can have credibility with the public. Moderators are the vehicles for a debate, not the arbitrators of the debate. A network that hosts a debate must have a fact checker team in place during the debate capable of responding immediately after the debate is over.

Expand full comment

During the first debate, Drumpf was heckling Biden enemy after his mic was cut. It was predictable, and the moderators said nothing. Drumpf couldn’t help himself, and they succumbed. Would a next time be any different?

Expand full comment

You need moderators with enough personal strength to run the debate. So far I haven't seen any. Maybe someone from MSNBC

Expand full comment

Maybe that journalist at the National Association of Black Journalists Conference, Rachel Scott? She asked very direct questions. That is why he got so irate and resorted to insulting her. She would be a great moderator!

The momentum and pacing in the run-up to the finish line on November 5 is like a horse race. Harris is well disciplined and will pace her increasingly forward momentum for an energetic break-out 2-3 weeks before election day.

In the meantime, she will enable Trump and Vance to slosh through their blunders and continue to antagonize one group of the electorate after another as Trump's hard-core base of cult fanatics continues to peel off due to increasingly offensive comments and positions that even they are turned off to, such as Vance's recently revealed comment that the rape of a woman is a mere inconvenience to society if she can be compelled to give birth to the rapist's child.

The more that we hear from and read about JD Vance's dark entrenched beliefs, the more the American people will be repelled by the thought, given Trump's aging and failing mental condition, that Vance is only a few heartbeats away from becoming the President of the United States by default.

Expand full comment

As a woman, I find Vance's comment about rape to be over the top. He must not have a heart or a soul. He clearly doesn't care about anyone other than himself. I'm surprised that he managed to marry and stay married. I hope the cult really is peeling off from trump.

Expand full comment

I'll be honest. While it doesn't exactly scare me, it does make me exceedingly curious regarding why the media seems to be missing the fact that donOLD and ShadyV seem unafraid to not only alienate, but outright insult major sectors of the electorate. And the Republicans don't seem to be trying to distance themselves from it either.

So one naturally wonders why politicians would do that. I know donOLD can't help himself, but surely ShadyV knows better. And if he doesn't why aren't more politically savvy people in the campaign clueing him in?

Expand full comment

I think the ShillBilly really, truly believes that women are to be treated like second-class citizens, like farm animals. His mother was a drug addict and because of how he may have been treated as a kid, deep down I do believe Vance hates women with every fiber of his being.

Expand full comment

I agree. But it still isn't a smart political move to basically tell every woman voter in the country that you hate their guts and don't care about their vote.

Which is why I wonder what gives him the confidence to insult them.

Expand full comment

He gets the confidence to insult and demean women because, in his mind, women do not deserve respect. So to him "women are a different species" is as true as the sun rises in the east...and he doesn't need confidence to state his "truth"; he really believes it.

Expand full comment

Anne, you're missing my point. It doesn't matter what his personal confidence is to state his "truth", his "truth" is insulting a major portion of the electorate he and his fat oaf partner NEED to even hope to get close to a win.

And it isn't just him. The Republicans in general seem to have no concern using the dogwhistle "DEI hire" which is insulting to the minority community, so WHY are they so confident it won't hurt them in the election?

THAT'S the point. This is NOT good politics, and if you're currently falling behind in the polls, and you're also not gaining any ground with swing voters, WHY do they collectively not seem concerned about the rhetoric that is sending people in droves to either vote for VP Harris, or not vote at all?

And why aren't they telling ShadyV to cool it with the rhetoric. This is not how one wins an election. And even if he's like his nominee partner and just can't help himself, why aren't Republicans trying to tone down his rhetoric, or at least distance themselves from it?

That's what's concerning me. They, to a person, don't seem to have a problem turning off a major portion of the electorate in a year in which they not only want to capture the White House, but also keep the House, and regain the Senate?

Expand full comment

Possibly because they know (or think they know) they have an ironclad plan in place to simply steal the election, no matter the voting results? Just a guess...

Expand full comment

I agree with others here that widespread plans by Republicans for election cheating are already in the works. The criminal running for President and his thugs seem confident the plans will succeed in somehow wrecking the election.

Remember that trump has been saying this very strange thing since New Hampshire in October, 2023:

“So we have to be careful, you gotta get out there and you got to watch those voters. You don't have to vote, don't worry about voting. The voting, we got plenty of votes, you gotta watch."

trump is convinced that the rigging he has relied on since 2015 and 2016 is already in process for votes for him.

I would bet that some of the discussion trump had when he met in DC with the congressional republicans was how the possibility will work of a contingent election in which the House of Representatives decides on who the president will be. And this, along with inserted pro-trump local election officials, is why trump thinks he already has the votes he needs. And why he can openly say “I don’t care about you.”

Perhaps not cluing him in, because they don’t have the eyes to see. As well as the fact that DT can not handle truth in any measure. He will disown them, and then go after them.

So many republicans have forgotten just how miserable every single day practically of the Trump presidency was. Every day, day in and day out we couldn’t get away from the narcissist’s constant demand for the spotlight. It was exhausting. It was even exhausting for them.

We’ve had three and a half years with a true administrator in the Administration. Quietly just doing the job, making things better for the country and just letting the rest of us live our lives. And it’s been very good.

But we haven’t been super inspired. We’re relieved. We’re thankful. But Joe Biden has never been great at inspiring the American public.

NOW WE ARE INSPIRED! We won without it in 2020. It seems pretty unlikely that with all that Trump does and says and his record, Kamala Harris could get fewer votes than Joe got. Seems pretty likely Trump will get fewer though.

Thanks for fighting the good fight, Mary Trump. We’re glad to have at least one decent, kind, sane Trump. And remember, you have us too. We’ve all learned about what you’ve been dealing with your whole life. We empathize. We’re with you too.
