While I know you need to be paid for your incredible work, might you create a “hero” or “star” program where a person could sponsor another’s membership? Some of us geezers in rural areas who were devastated by Covid means that you aren’t getting to some of us “poor” who though educated can no longer do warehouse work. I haven’t picked up my prescriptions this week...

I agree 100%. I am 70, a disabled senior, living in low income senior housing. I have not always been poor, however, I am now and most of my family are deceased. Last month I ran out of food the last week and ate one slice of bread a day with jelly on it. Reading is one of the few things I still can do. Sorry you have not been able to pick up your RX this week.

My heart is with you ( and I get my state-sponsored wi-fi free based on income. I love that.)

Nice!!! Glad you have that. I get mine for 20 dollars with the federal discount for as long as that lasts. Then it jumps up to 70 dollars a month just for internet, it's crazy

Have you asked about lower pricing...there are cards in pharmacies that give you lower prices. Google about them.

I’m not an idiot and I am computer savvy: I don’t need anyone to rescue me from my current situation. I’d like information - especially critical thinking - to be within my budget, that’s all.

Me, too! I’m 80, and I would SO love to read all that you have to say about the Orange Menace, with your exclusive knowledge as a family member! (Note: Nicoletta, how do you get a senior’s discount on internet access?)

Here’s a question for the OM: Mr. Trump (NOT “Mr. President”), truly wise folks in your age group have had at least a few visits with a mental health professional at some point. SO MANY people (including me) have diagnosed you as having at least one personality disorder, including psychopathy. I’m convinced that you have crippling narcissistic and pure sociopathic symptoms. Has a mental health professional ever mentioned this to you? (And yes, I’m aware that “sociopathy” is an outdated term, but it really seems more appropriate here.)

Are you familiar with Trump’s niece, Mary Trump? Research what this woman, with a Doctorate in Psychology, has to say about her uncle. You are spot on!

The judge can effectively gag Trump by incarcerating him for just 4 hours for each offense! That will sober him up!!!

To get the judge to either throw out the case or lock him up for a night so he can "grift off that and I believe he is hoping for Jan 6 Part 2!!! He and the lawyers are baiting the judge, clearly. Cheeto is a lunatic who belongs in a straight jacket

After the orange fascist scab says this or that property is worth x$, does anyone ask him why when he completed tax evaluations it was only worth x$? Nothing happened to the property, a fire, act of God etc to devalue these properties, so which evaluation is truth and which is fraud? And make him answer. Can they treat him as a hostile witness? Can the judge tell Kise/Habba to cut the political crap? When Kise said ‘future Pres’ , can the judge say that will be up to the American voters and not a subject to be included in discussions.

How can we get the networks to stop giving so much credence to the NY Times poll on the swing states? Donald praised the Times during his post-testimony rant. It's a land line, year away poll that doesn’t even include RFK Jr., who's taking from Donald in other polls.

Antagonizing the judge doesn't invite any thought of a favorable decision. Why close that door by acting like they all are? And would it cause a legal problem if tfg was insolated in a room in the courthouse for a few hours after being warned to calm down?

Yeah, Im curious if Judge Engoron rules against him if all the assets (or the majority) can be placed in escrow pending outcome of the appeal?

And has the judge not confined him because he’s afraid for his life? Or why?

Okay that was two q’s.

Expand full comment

I don’t think the Judge fears DJT.

There is already an appointed someone to oversee & provide oversight in Trump Org Assets so they can’t fiddle too much after they’re Already Guilty of Fraud determined by a jury.

This trial is just to determine what the Penalty & Cost the trumps must bear.

Expand full comment

When will it go to a jury? I thought this judge makes the decision and then trump will appeal. And he wont pay anything unless the appeal fails.

What did I miss?

Alina Hoba (sp) apparently did not check the box requesting a jury trial so it's a 'bench trial' and the judge makes the final decision, he already ruled against the trump org. Sept 27, NYT: "A New York judge ruled on Tuesday that Donald J. Trump persistently committed fraud by inflating the value of his assets, and stripped the former president of control over some of his signature New York properties."

Expand full comment

Right. Thats why I asked Beverly why she said it would go to a jury trial.

And if he has to pay damages to the tune of MOST of his assets... would those assets be placed in escrow pending outcome of any appeals?

I must not have framed the questions well, since I received two answers that didnt answer either question. I apologize for not being more clear.

It’s already been to a jury! The Jury found Trump Org guilty of Fraud. This is a civil crime, so the penalty is only fines!

This IS the penalty phase only and is what we are now seeing in the news. That’s because a Jury already has found the Trump Org guilty of fraud in this Civil Trial.

Trump’s handpicked lawyers didn’t say they wanted a jury for this part of the trial.

The Penalty/Damages phase is now what is happening. The civil courts only can fine bad-actors and take away their ability to do any business in New York State. This is about the fraud commuted by this Trump company based in NY State. That’s why you’re hearing about New York, New York attorney general and the judge “in New York” and the $250 Million dollar fine And potential loss of the Trumps ability to ever have a business in NY State ever again.

This is the last part of this trial. It’s only about penalties ($$$) and business licenses now.

A jury trial for this crime has already found Trump Org guilty for a civil crime.

The felony crimes ---

1)Stealing and Keeping top secret documents; 2) inciting an insurrection/riot on Jan 6; 3)Trying to steal the Georgia election to stay in power --- those are all just getting going and most those will happen next year.

Hope this helps clear it up for you.

He’s been a really busy crook!!!

Civil crimes in NY; felony crimes in FL, DC, and Georgia.

Any appeal - will go before an appellate-court, not to a jury. There’s usually 3-5 Judges on an Appellate Court. I don’t live in NY so I’m no expert on their courts but that kind of court will decide “the merits” of an appeal.

Here’s a website for you, so you can look at the courts there for yourself & get more NY Court Information.

https://nycourts.gov.

Again, I hope this clarifies some of this.

I Never Said it’d go to a jury, but that it Already Had Been to a jury.

Michael Cohen made a comment, I believe it was yesterday or early this morning, that Trump's visage looked like someone had vacuumed the life out of it. Of course I am not quoting, but paraphrasing. As you've known him your entire life, do you think that this specific trial and testimony today has taken a physical toll on him to the point where he may be incapacitated? We all know he's nuts, but do you see any signs he medically may be failing from the stress?

He can value a property just by looking at it sounds a lot like he can declassify secret documents just by thinking about it. And MAGA GOP agrees. What will it take to stop the mass delusion? I’m serious.

I don't think Trump's attorneys care if they upset the judge. They're performing for an audience of one. I also suspect that they know the penalty will be high but again, they don't care. They want to be able to say to Trump, after the verdict, that they did everything they could. These are not lawyers who care about the rule of law, they only care about getting paid (which is why Kise got a huge retainer in advance).

How much will he really have to pay (e.g. how realistic is $250M)? Can only New York State properties be liquidated (e.g. will he hang on to Mar-A-Lago, Bedford, Chicago tower)?
