Mary! You are an absolute gem. Thank you for being every single bit of who you are! You are a truly real and wonderful person.

Hey those of you editors who felt the need to be jerky... go F yourselves!

Kind of tilts the old Nature vs Nurture argument in favor of Nurture doesn't it?

Oh my Lord well put mr. Cat!! My sentiments exactly.

Mary you are one of my favorites in my journey on Substack. Please keep it up!

You are AMAZING!!! This is one of the most fun articles that I have read, since I couldn't stop laughing at one of Steve Schmidt's! The signs from the Orange Sadist's "welcome" in Scotland are a hoot! I didn't see anything about this on the news. Maybe just missed. I subscribe to SEVEN (!) other substacks: Steve Schmidt's "The Warning"; Dan Rather's "Steady"; Robert Reich's "Office Hours; Timothy Snyder's "Thinking About"; Heather Cox Richardson's "Letters from an American"; Joyce Vance's "Civil Discourse"; and Michael Moore's letter. I didn't think I'd be signing up for another site (it takes a LONG time to read them -- plus the comments, which I thoroughly enjoy -- every day + the WaPo, NYT + 3 hours of MSNBC every day. However, yours is just TOO GOOD to miss! So, I've joined your tribe, and look forward to reading everything you write. [P.S. Damn shame that your idiot uncle doesn't have your brains and wisdom.]

I am with you! Mary makes me laugh and cry. I also spend hours reading most of the same substacks as you, and the same news. It is both keeping me sane but also depressed and anxious.

I've seen your name before in at least another one of the substacks we both read!

Love it, Mary! Malcolm Nance was on Stephanie Miller and used the term, “Schadenfreude deliciousness.” We need t-shirts! Thanks for all you do.

My favorite german word is "scheinheilig". It's usually translated as "hypocritical". but "seemingly holy" or wanting to appear to be "holy" says so much more about the person. It fits on large parts of the GOP. The first person that comes to my mind is Mike Pence...

As always, Mary, you speak for me and most likely for thousands of others who feel the same way and who see things as you do. How I wish Donald would just GO AWAY already! Why do all the rest of us have to have this man's insanity constantly in our faces? Why does ONE MAN get to affect millions so negatively? Why do we have to put up with him? Every time I hear him speak (which I try to avoid), I want to scream at him, "Who the HELL do you think you are?" Anyway -- got that off my chest. Your post yesterday was right on. It seems like nearly every day I get up, turn on the news, and there's been another mass shooting. Inevitably I start crying, and as often as it happens, turns out I'm waking up crying most days now. My heart is sick. So for all of us who are in the Light, let's shine as brightly as we can, because the Darkness right now is a formidable and growing enemy. May God help us.

Thom Hartmann was talking yesterday about how when Fish Sticks desired to see an "Antifa" person get beat up even worse or killed by Proud Boys, then realized that was not the way others would expect him to think, that was a sign of Sociopathy.

This made me worry that my small schadenfreude concerning The Donald finally facing accountability might mean that I might have a bit of Sociopathy hiding deep inside me.

As a professional psychologist please tell me I'm OK and popcorn is acceptable behavior in this case.

Thank you.

Mary your sub stack is well written researched and honest. Even though the links failed you you did what any good person/ writer would do For this shows us the credibility and respect you have for your work and how important it is that you get it right . Which is more than I can say for some in the media and journalism. You laid out in grand fashion in your writing in yesterday’s post and quite alarming I must say . This has been quite a week ! Have yourself a great weekend as well and to everyone here. An abundance of thanks is in in order here !

Mary, Thank you for including links - even after a one-time difficult learning curve. Besides your excellent book, is there another reference to the potatoes on your uncle’s head story? Thanks for your great work.

DeSantas may be unlikeable and unqualified and a disaster on the world stage exhibiting petulant behavior when challenged, but we observed all the same traits in little donnie and he got installed in the Oval Office.

Just for the record, Patricia Swanson is Tucker's step-mother and Swanson food products had long been sold to Campbell's before 10 yr old Tucker's dad married Ms. Swanson. ..actually, long before Tucker was born. I think Fish Sticks is a great name for him, but he's not an heir to Swanson Foods.

From my first notice of them, decades ago, two men prominently carved my benchmark for most detestable media personality. With a wicked fascination, I would take in their bloated egos, self absorption and cruel projections until disbelief and disgust made me dizzy. Glad to have lived long enough to see both Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson deflate and burn with a slow sizzle.

AG Baglan, All true, but didn't Swanson $$$ put tuckered out through private schools and college (and who knows what else he received)?
