The Aimee Mann blurb is beautiful. It made me cry.

I pre- ordered it from Amazon in July, also her brother's book, 3 Langston Hughes books, along with a Christopher Martin , 3 book series.

So, my Winter readings are set, got all except Mary's book and my new Spectacles; Eyeglasses are ridiculously expensive, even with Medicre Advantage benefits.

DAMNNNNNN😎♏️

I can't wait to read this. Your tag line, "The only way out is through", resonates with the difficulties I am going through in my own life. Even though our traumas are not the same, there is comfort in hearing your words. There is comfort in knowing I'm not alone. Thank you Mary.

As a fellow experienced in dealing and on the healing journey from CPTSD, of somewhat related family trauma issues. I’m grateful for your Bravery, Courage, Compassion, Empathy, Fearlessness, Honesty, Hope, Grit, Kindness, Reality, Respect, Strength, and Support Mary. I’m looking forward to reading your book. And sharing with others along the way our mutual life’s paths. As all of learn, it is a lifelong dedication once on this blessed healing path.

You’re not alone, Mary. Thank you for writing Too Much and Never Enough. When I read it, I thought I was reading a psychological history of my mother’s father. Your family was in real estate in NY; mine was in oil in Texas. The manner in which our grandfather’s saw fit to raise their children have affected all members of the families for two-three generations now, and continuing onward. Once you’ve been routinely traumatized in every day life by the very people that are supposed to love and care for you, it’s not possible to simply “grow out of it.” Thank you for bringing your analytical knowledge and sensitivities to explain to the world why your uncle behaves as he does. You’ve explained far more families’ history than you may be aware. I’ve preordered Who Can Ever Love You and am looking forward to reading your latest insights.

Kelley, you are absolutely correct that you can't just "grow out of trauma". It takes serious work to get beyond it, as I know from experience. The greatest truth here is that "the only way out is through".

I remember a therapist telling me that ‘long time ago’. I replied then, ‘Oh no!’

I’m laughing now because yes, of course. And it worked. As my younger sister says: ‘You’re Free!’

Lucky me. If you’re in a 12 step program there’s a secret: you can actually graduate just as you do from school to college to a profession to becoming older and expanding on and on into you’re very own grand piano aware kind compassionate Self.

Of course I’ll order the book, Mary.

Thank you for your immense courage and talent.

"You're Free" is exactly what happens. I really like what you said about what your self can become. I'm not that eloquent, but that's exactly what happens.

What an amazing blurb for the cover by Aimee Mann as well!

I’m eagerly awaiting my advance order copy. And I’m so very moved by your brief story and by Aimee’s tribute to you. Right! A spark, is it decency, God, something that lives despite the worst possible surroundings. Something your mom and or dad infused into you early on, separating you from the meanness? Sending a hug and gratitude!

I’m really looking forward to reading it. One thing’s for sure Mary—you are brave.

Mary, your article and honesty of your experience with the craziness we’ve all experienced resonated with me. It was if you were talking about me…sitting on the couch glued to MSNBC, YouTube videos, twitter (X), newspaper articles, not wanting to leave the house. My depression and anxiety through me into this person I couldn’t recognize. I too had to stop the barrage of negative and frightening information. I’m not out of the woods yet but little by little I’m seeing a glimmer of my old self but a better version. I call it Donna 2.0. Thank you again for your honesty regarding mental health. I look forward to reading your book.

Kind regards

Donna Bartlett
