So if SCOTUS finds Donnie can assassinate his rivals, that means Biden can too?

Expand full comment

The right wing activist Supreme Court justices will of course make a ruling that while not officially giving Trump immunity will make damn sure the trials don't happen before the November election because it is the most corrupt and immoral SCOTUS in American history.

We need to seek whatever measures we can use to balance the court again. Expand the court, limit justice tenure to 12 to 20 yr. term, create a non-partisan judicial review board, whatever it will take, but we must put in place whatever we can to ensure that the court is safe.

Imagine wearing this in front of extremists 👇

I like the idea of periodically reaffirming the justices' tenure, as they do in some states. Also, an enforceable code of ethics would work too, and then it wouldn't matter so much what their terms were.

Sorry to be so chatty today - Let's all remember that 1) Trump publicly supported/colluded with/met with Putin (one-on one, Trump & Putin) alone in a room. Where they talking about U.S. state secret's, Vlad's support of Don's building in Gorky Park, or what movie to see when they have a weekend date?; 2) Don publicly supported/colluded with/sent love-letters to/ Jong-un. Prior to the love-letter exchange Jong-un was aware of the torture, coma, and eventual death of an American student. Trump was also aware, did nothing, and continued to support Jong-un; and 3) Trump also supported members of the Saudi Regime in spite of the connection & awareness of the murder & dismemberment of an American citizen/NY Times reporter. Trump defended the regime & did nothing.

Yet there's not a peep in the media about Trump's interview with Pulitzer prize winner, Bob Woodward, where he admitted to lying about covid and killing THOUSANDS of men, women and children in the US. WHY? This is BIGGER than January 6th, the purposeful murder of American citizens by their PRESIDENT. He admitted it was more deadly and contagious than he said it was, he called it a killer. He said he knew it was very contagious to children, but he worried about the economy and his ratings more than their lives. WHY? Where is the justice for the 1 MILLION plus, dead American's and their families? Why aren't there lawsuits galore, suing that lying murderer?

Trump has said that: he's 1) above the law; 2) a stable genius; 3) not guilty; 4) the actual winner of the 2020 election - all false. We can go back to our initial shock of seeing Trump as the Republican candidate for President despite his 50 years of cons/scams/thefts, disloyalty, epic deadbeat status, sleaze, cheats, lies/fake claims, indecency, and more.. There hasn't been such a damaged & flawed human being (with possible alarming personality disorders/mental health issues in our nation's history. And more and more people are normalizing it all, even with the dead weight of the wrongful Republican position on abortion bans..

Joe has not helped the cause with his open borders, the unsustainable billions needed to enrich the migrants, and the horror show of allowing unvaxxed/unvetted possible disease carriers, criminals, enemy agents into the United States. The Democratic left has seized the party and has allowed the dumbing down of education in public schools/an automatic graduation of no show students/removal of gifted programs/teaching to the lowest common denominator/more interest in the school's standing than in educating the students/alarming stance on blocking parents from knowing their children's gender identity and if teachers are responsible/the new indoctrination of university students over education,.....There's the problem of unfairly putting the load of student debt forgiveness on taxpayers (a significant number of didn't take the money and either didn't go to college, sacrificed to do so, or went later in life when the impact on one's career was negligible. And, finally, Joe's enforcement of allowing the female gender to be diminished by men who declare a gender change (whether they go through any alterations at all or not). In 2024, it is impossible to remove a male's muscle mass,/markers/increased strength & endurance/testosterone, etc., therefore creating an unfair advantage. Every single trans "athlete" was a male who didn't do so well competing against other males, but when switching sides, that male (who retained the look, height, and physique of a male) wins handily over all females - it is an outrage......Still, the best choice is to support Joe Biden. We can be assured that we will not lose our freedoms due to an aspiring despotic dictator nor will we have a President who has shown himself to be a malevolent predator for multiple decades.

The money should go to U.S. citizen/green card holders who are homeless. The money should go to the infra-structure nationwide that's rotting/falling apart. The ground was made fertile by many before tfg. Eisenhower ignitiated the "National Prayer Breakfast." Altered the "Pledge..." by inserting the words "Under God." Had all US paper and coinage carry the words "In God We Trust." CIA and State Department heads, the Dulles brothers. He also "probably" had a mistress, his personal secretary during WWII by many accounts, but never divorced Maime. Things just got worse after Nixon, whose vice presidency under Eisenhower also needs to be acknowledged and recognized as a HUGE blunder, especially after the manner in which Nixon won his 1947 Ca House of Rep seat from a WOMAN. (It's ALL in our history. Easy to research.)

Then Kennedy. Johnson. (All of us probably are aware of those two Demo presidents.) Then here comes recycled Nixon again! Angrier and more corrupt than ever. (Recommend Oliver Stone's "Nixon," an insightful emotional biography of this complicated human.) A Ford, R, pardon after the FIRST EVER RESIGNATION of a US President. (Seems only #45, also an R "trumps" THAT first!) Jimmy Carter, D. Inc. one term, loses to Reagan after a "questionable" release of American hostages from Iran. And high inflation, many would argue due to the frivilous and wasteful expense of a war in Vietnam. Reagan, handsome, glib, corrupt. Groomed by the best $$$ the Republicans had to offer. Many of the very same, very wealthy individuals who catapulted him into California's governor's office "practiced" here first. Social Security Federal Income Tax. Iran-Contra. Grenada. Union busting (air traffic controllers. Still feeling those after effects.) FCC regs shredded. So many other regs, protecting the people from profits, at any cost assaulted. "Greed is good." More. Bush I. (Former CIA Chief and Reagan vp) More RepubliCON shenanigans. One term. Out of touch with so much. Hard to fathom RAN the CIA! Then Clinton, D. Who could NEVER keep his pants zipped. (Ask anyone in "high society" Little Rock.) Surrendered to R, by many historians' opinions, to guarantee a second term. Dogged by Kevin Starr, R "special prosecuter," over Whitewater, a "nothing burger." But caught with his fly unzipped once more. National disgrace. A liar by his own admission. Bush II, out to out-do his dad. (Recommend Oliver Stone's "W" as a peek into this "Christian.") "No drama Obama." (Golly, are we ever makng up for that?!) Harassed continuously by loser racists. Family constantly threatened. MAJOR disrepect by #45. President Biden now at the helm. Some of us still smarting at HIS handling of the Clarence Thomas hearings. Biden was chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee which "questioned" Thomas before full Senate finally endorsed him as a Supreme Court Justice. (I still believe Prof. Anita Hill. There were other women who volunteered to testify, but were disallowed by Biden's committee.) Isn't OUR history fascinating!? As I commented already…the highest powerful court in your land…is politically appointed….absolutely incredible …plus the hidden power of church hierarchy in some states beggars belief…..the election interference in states not favourable to the incumbent …moving polling booths … wow…🤬🤬

Mind blowing to our court systems and voting….1. Voting compulsory here….2…three layers of government…local, state and federal…. all have separate elections ….they are mandated to the terms….some 4 yrs some 3yrs……the High Court of Australia …..are appointed by the Governor General…etc..check it out on wikepedia/google etc…

I certainly am proud to be an Aussie when I read the complexity and troubles in your country…racism appears a major problem still …??

That’s all folks 😹😹😹

I grew up with the greatest respect, admiration and above all trust in the Court. But like so much else from my childhood, this has now vanished for parts unknown.

I think the New York case is important because like the national enquirer people love this kind of soap opera drama and trump is not projecting that he’s any kind of great guy. He projects an unappealing ugliness. He could lose a lot of votes. He’s the bad guy in this story, and definitely not the strongman that he imagines he is. The judge controls him.

SCOTUS has me incredibly upset. I just can’t believe what’s going down there.

Not one person uttered a word about the Republican block of the Democratic SCOTUS pick that Pres. Obama chose. The reason for the block was invalid & should have been ignored & lawfully ousted. Then came Trump - the con/scammer/thief, sleaqe - most indecent human being ever to run for U.S. President....and look at the TOTAL corruption of the Republican Party today.

The conservative-reactionary Justices have only one goal in mind: to come up with some new test of the difference between official and unofficial acts so they can return the case to the district court for determinations of which bowl Trump's actions fall into. That will require hearings, rulings and of course Trump appeals. The net result is sufficient delay to prevent any trial in the interference case before Judge Chutkan before the election. A major win for Trump though the hard work of his ward healers on the Supreme Court who are always looking for a favor to do for Donald. I found today's oral argument to be the most disgusting one I have ever heard since the Justices were only looking for a way to derail Trump's coup trial. But wouldn't it be delicious if Biden wins re-election and Democrats win control of House and Senate, get rid of the obnoxious filibuster and then pass a statute to increase the Supreme Court to Thirteen Justices so that truth, justice and the American Way can once again prevail.
