Except for Mary L Trump - the author of this substack - and her brother and their families. Inheritance laws need to be “automated” with the presumption that everyone gets a fair and equal share unless they are somehow found legally culpable in the death of the deceased.

Donald attempted to change his father's will while the old man was still alive. Had it not been for the old man' s lawyers, Donald, Maryann and Robert would have succeeded. Fred Trump, Sr. had reached full blown Alzhemers disease around 1989 or so, so Donald figured he could get away with the theft. He did succeeded in stealing his brother Fred,Jr.' s children inheritance though.

Greed and avarice are also a component of his lack of morals/ character. MAGA adherence are so unaware of who / what donny is to the bone. 👹👺👹👺👹👺👹👺👹👺👹👺👹👺👹👺💩

Such cruelty being a person with a disability myself being on the Autism spectrum. This is so disgusting. Though I am highly functional and own my own house and have a decent job I was told by elementary school principal as my parents wanted to mainstream me into regular classes that I would never succeed in life. My parents fought for me and I am a functional adult. Ironically he compared me to his golf game saying he wasn't good as I would never be. And the Felon loves golf go figure.

Joe, I am with you. As a visually-impaired person, my parents fought for me and my older sister to live effectively in a sighted world that does not appreciate people with disabilities. I kept hearing that when asked which condition Americans feared most it was blindness. I lost my vision fully 10 years ago today and found that that is not the worst condition one can experience; it's lack of humanity and discrimination against others, both characteristics Donald Trump has in spades, yet millions think he is practically god. OMG!

Minnie - I recognized the frightening similarity of Trump to Hitler when he entered politics. I think it started with his term “fake news”. That was Hitler’s doing as well.

Next had to be a common enemy. Hitler created lies about Jews and his philosophy was if you say it enough the masses believe it. He blamed everything on the “greedy” “dirty” Jews with lie after lie and they were no longer even viewed as humans. Who could even imagine that to be possible.

Trump has done the same. Anyone who is not part of his MAGATS movement are the Far Left and the Left are molesters, pedophiles, baby killers who want to destroy this country by creating a socialist society. My god, he even has them believing all of this nonsense is being conducted in a pizza shop.

Marcianna, the members of the "once-dignified GOP" have not existed for a long time. It was they who elected Nixon got him to do a few positives like the EPA and Title IX, but let him behave badly by sabotaging the Vietnam Peace Talks, bombing incessantly in Vietnam, North Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and wherever they could be convinced there were enemies, helped overturn an elected government in Chile which led to unspeakable horrors, and then there's Watergate. Ford just went along, made Vice President because he was willing to pardon Nixon. Reagan was despicable almost from day 1 and his VP Bush was a racist misogynistic ass who tried to hide it in his "1,000 Points of Light nonsense. Bush, Jr. was so inept his intelligence apparatus was not up to stopping 9/11, which became the excuse to take us into 2 wars in countries he and this nation knew nothing about. Trump is a combination of all of the previous Republican presidents from Nixon, with the worst qualities of each. Ruth, I join you and Joe as a hearing impaired person. People tend to think you are stupid if you can't hear. People with disabilities deserve the same respect as everyone else. I also know what it's like to have people have so little faith in you that they decide what you can do and can't do, without taking motivation and willingness to work hard to do things into account. That is the story of me and my violin teacher, and the reason I quit at age 17. (That story is about different issues than hearing loss.) I'm glad some people have parents who will fight for them.

Susan, it seems anyone who is not like the others is not really welcome in so many places. I am grateful that I have had such amazing colleagues in nearly every job I had and I have had plenty since I often worked under grants and when the grant went out, so did I. I have worked with hearing-impaired and deaf people in several of my jobs and of course found them to be smart, funny, creative, kind, and very knowledgeable. What more could any employer or even friend want? I guess for so many, not being able to hear well or at all trumps any gifts a person has just as it does for people who are visually-impaired or blind. It does make life challenging, but there are so many good people out here that we need to help them to come out and find what they will need to be a supporter rather than someone who is scared it will happen to them.

As a deaf person with cochlear implants starting at age 40 and hearing aids all my life before that, at 51, I have a growing suspicion that at least part of my feeling of people not taking me seriously has to do with my hearing. This despite being functionally hearing if there isn't much background noise. I stopped trying to continue to work in IT many years ago and "retired" on disability because I couldn't stand the obvious discrimination any more.

These days, knowing what former president Orange Glow thinks about people with disabilities, it's challenging not to have contempt for his supporters, especially when those supporters have friends or family with disabilities.

Expand full comment

Background noise is a killer. I think you are correct about your hearing being the cause of not being taken seriously. I'm sorry you had to go through that discrimination. It's crazy-making. Fortunately, these days, the people I encounter are generally nicer.

Expand full comment

My experience as a hard of hearing person is much the same as the others in this thread. I struggle every day at work to prove I’m smart and capable because so many hearing folks think deafness means less intelligent. I’m so tired. I’m tired of trying to hide my disability in fear of having interesting projects taken away from me (it’s happened). I’m tired of being asked why I dial into meetings instead of using computer audio (can we please not broadcast how I’m getting audio for zoom or teams?) I’m tired of no time to process what was just said, and assumptions that I’m stupid because it takes me a few seconds to put together what I heard and saw (lip reading). I certainly don’t need a candidate for president devaluing my existence simply because I function differently than many people.

Expand full comment

My husband doesn't seem to understand my slow auditory processing, and it's become worse as I've aged. People these days talk too fast, and don't necessarily enunciate well, which only makes it harder to decipher what they've said. I've never had the level of problems you have. It's distressing to me what you have to go through. You are clearly not stupid.

Expand full comment

This is starting to happen to me. A recent exam found that I have 'moderate' hearing loss. But hey, I saw all the great rock 'n' roll bands! The examiner suggested that I try and repeat what I heard instead of just saying 'what?' all the time. Trying, but change is hard. Just the other day, the girl in the medical marijuana dispensary spoke so quickly and with a considerable amount of background noise that I embarrassingly had to ask her 4x what she was saying. Anyway, I'm on Medicare. Go blue. Go Kamala.

Expand full comment

You know, I try that with my husband, and find out that what I heard was quite different from what he [supposedly] said. And he prefers that I say "what". The problem with that is that he starts the sentence over, and tends to fall off at the same point, second time through. If you decide to get hearing aids, my latest were from Costco, and they are the best I've ever had. Best service, too. Good luck with your effort to change.

Kali, thank you. I honestly have no idea how anyone who claims to be christian can support anyone like Donald Trump. Jean, it is so sad that so many people are OK with letting hatred, prejudice, anger, resentment, and fear boil within themselves and do it for years. It is so destructive and keeps them from really knowing joy that can encompass more than just themselves. If one is Christian as so many of those folks claim to be, they would know that Jesus came to save us all from such personal and social destruction by putting love at the center of life. That love is so immense it can contain love of oneself, love of one's neighbors and for Christians, everyone is our neighbor, and when we express those loves, we are demonstrating our love for God. Those hateful ones seem to have missed the love lesson and only got the "I'd better get mine before you get yours and I really don't want you to get anything because god only loves people like me" mode. The worst part is that their ministers preach that kind of gospel and scared mostly white people eat it up because they are desperate to believe they are better than everyone else. Then, there's Trump and Kump, people who use christianity as a weapon against those same people but they just can't see it. Those folks are not Christian, but practice a religion of power and money/accumulation while using their cult to get even more of that power and money. Oh yes, then they blame their opponents for their followers' current situation. It's just plain evil!

Ruth, I'm a physically disabled woman now (have been since 1999😢) but one of my fondest memories as a child was a friend of my mom's named Ross. She'd meet him in one of her classes, that as a teacher she had to take (continuing education credits). Yes, I can recall the days teachers had to do this lol!!

Ross was completely blind and he had the most gorgeous "boy friend" Jake.

Jake was gorgeous and handsome. Long golden hair, with a curl here/there, deep soul seeing brown eyes, and when he had his uniform on?!? OMG, such perfection!!

I feel in love with Jake at first kiss!! Although he had a terrible case of dog breath.

Jake was Ross' seeing eye dog. Ross would come over twice a week, after the class they both had, and let Jake just run wild with me!!

When Jake was diagnosed with cataracts, Ross had to get a new seeing eye dog. Once he had the new one and had gone thru the intensive training both human & dog go thru, he gave me & my Dad Jake.

We were thrilled!! All my friends said it was so "cool" that Jake would follow commands like he did, on or off leash. They REALLY loved how Jake would NOT let any of us cross the street until he gave the all clear.

Unfortunately, after about 6 years with us, he developed cancer and it was really aggressive. Our vet gave my Dad the medication to give Jake when we KNEW he wanted to go. So, on the day we knew, we both laid on the ground with him, petting, holding, crying into his fur and getting love back, I looked into those beautiful eyes and told him "Jake, it's time for you to go over the Rainbow Bridge. Don't worry, you won't feel any pain any longer and Daddy & I will see you again."

He just gave us a soft "huff" which was him saying okay and closed his eyes.

I learned SO much from Ross and Jake and that was, NEVER, EVER judge people for any reason, until they GIVE you a reason to judge.

I've made friends over the many years since I met Ross & Jake, sight impaired, hearing impaired, even a taste impaired person!!

I showed those people how not every person is a jerk, an a.h., etc etc etc.

I taught the lessons Ross & Jake taught me, to my children and as far as I know, they've carried on with those lessons in their heart and minds.

Jean, what a great story. You were lucky to have met such a terrific team so early in your life. It is so hard to understand why people make it so difficult to step out of things they have learned even when they have seen something that proves what they learned is just plain wrong. People need to be encouraged to try new things more often, including dropping prejudices, something that is far easier than people imagine it is, at least if one takes it a step at a time.

Because of the way our government treated the former confederates after the war, no consequences personally, they never had to get over slavery and it has been such a big part of their ethos ever since. We met on a long cruise, and by the time we got off the ship, I knew he was trustworthy. I also knew he was just a friend. We lived about 2000 miles apart, and got into what turned into a very heavy email correspondence, after I wrote to thank him for some information he'd given me that I'd been able to use. The romance started to develop as we got to know each other better. So I would recommend doing an activity that could result in friends. Also, if you have negative gut reactions to someone, pay attention to them (I learned that the hard way with someone else). IMO our dating system is not the way to find someone to marry. I wish you the best.

She was a dedicated special education teacher, a union member who was on the picket line when negotiating a new teacher contract. She and her husband have a daughter with life long special needs who lives in a group home.

I know better than to recite the logical implications of what will happen to their daughter if Trump is elected POTUS. I don’t need the vitriol by which my comments would receive. Her disability insurance will be gone, but they’re totally all in with Trump.

The way that judge spoke about the situation smells like Donald Dollars paying for the decision and the uncaring speech. Sue him and get his bank records from the dates of the trial and before snd after. There's no excuse for a judge to speak to anyone like that.

While your at it, make very clear to the public within and outside of Substack about Donald's visits to Epstein's house of teenage sex slaves, the lawsuit filed against him over the horribly abusive oral abuse and sexual abuse; his slapping her hard and telling her to shut up if she didn't want to wind up like Maria.

Not surprisingly, the case was withdrawn because of death threats to the girl, her family, and the Attorneys and their families.

Somewhere in the story of the rape, Epstein was furious at Donald for raping the girl before he did. Epstein wanted to be first.

I've been trying for a long while to get this to the public. Recently I've been noticing others commenting on WAPO articles about it. The bad thing about comments on news articles is that the staff seems to ignore them, the politicians might not read them, and radio and television newscasters don't know about it or they're too afraid of Donald to bring it up.

So, I hope you can use this. Sharing with the public could, in my cautious opinion, lose him enough MAGA votes... who am I kidding? They adore their sick version of the Second Coming up Christ.

Richard La France

PS

Bill Clinton was also known to be a customer of Epstein's.

Thanks for the case number. I’d read it a long time ago; however, there’s more information out now. Anybody who thinks The Combover Caligula isn’t capable of this is blind to who he is.

You're welcome. If people don't start making noise about this we'll just have to speak more aggressively. And that, Diane, is the second stage of a riot. I don't recommend that third phase. I lived in Detroit and Los Angeles much later. I learned from those riots.

1. People ask for help from local government. No results.

2. People get loud asking for help. No results.

3. People riot to finally get attention. That is never translated to my reason 3. The National Guard is called in to back up the local police. The newscasts tell the negative opinions only about the rioters, from high level politicians and businessmen and women, and from the general public calling the rioters terrible names and wanting them locked up for... wanting help from those who are supposed to serve all citizens.

I had read about this some years back until the thread ended, apparently due to death threats.

I suspect it’s not the only skeleton in T’s closet. Since he may escape justice in this life . . . . If there are such things as reincarnation and transmigration, I hope he comes back as a cucuracha, a cockroach.

Mary, I can’t believe all that you and your family have gone through. It’s a miracle you are still sane.

Thank you for your strength and courage 💙

As a psychologist who worked (part-time) more than 30 years in a wonderful university-based school for kids with complex medical problems paired with developmental disabilities, I can confirm that their parents are typically devoted caregivers and impassioned advocates, but none of them survive the experience without a village’s worth of expert help and support. And what seems to be hardest for outsiders to understand is that those parents love their children with profound disabilities as much as any parent loves their typical child. Getting to know each of those students as unique human beings was a life-changing experience for me, the teachers and an army of campus volunteers. Most people are capable of learning that “smartness ” and “achievements” do not define human worth. Donald, his siblings and his children seem to lack this capacity. Their tragedy, your nephew’s, and now ours.

Jan, what a blessing that families had you and your colleagues and the volunteers to work with their children and with them as they faced the challenges of children with significant needs. I had a chance to work for a few days in a similar classroom at Peabody College in Nashville back in the 1970s and experienced the challenges the teachers, families, and the children had in finding ways to make life positive, even joyful. Thanks for your work and dedication!

The withdrawal of funds was a cruel and vengeful act. How could they?

What a piece of crap don old is and it seems all his immediate family with him. as you have said Mary, there is not one redeeming quality about this moron. I wish he would just go away or better yet may he and his children all rot in prison for the rest of their lives.

It's sad that this scumbag was ever our President. Damn that Electoral College.

And, a pox on the houses of those in the media who first gave him any publicity at all in Queens from which the orange plague spread to cover the globe! Why would anyone think he should be in any political position much less the White House is beyond my ability to comprehend!

It seems that there are more members of your family that are heartless, cruel and without a conscience. We don’t really know what has made them so despicable and inhumane. Although you’ve suffered, I think of you, your father and your brother as the most fortunate people in the whole gang. It matters that you are able to look yourself in the eye and feel good about who you are and how you’ve treated people. You have made a huge contribution to all of us and especially this country. We appreciate you greatly and you will be remembered for all that you have done for us as, even though it’s been a painful danger to you. Bless you.

I've read it and then I donated it to my local High School library. Mind you, we are in New Zealand so can't vote in the US. But I want the right wing echo chamber kids to also have access to it...

Just picked up your book, Mary...and Fred's as well. Over the years I've read just about every book published.about Donald ( lower case c). As a retired nurse they have all provided a picture of a flawed and unstable character. God Bless you...for all you do for.others..and still wage the good fight against his cruelty , misogyny, mendacity, and the " me" factor that seems to dictate how he must live his life. Hope you take time to find ways to be good to yourself. You are the " General" in this army!...the leader of the band. Be well 🤗

Just did, it's brilliant. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to that family. There is no element of cashing in whatsoever on her or her brother's part.

That's a beautiful comment. Thank you.

There are ancestral healing retreats which are effective in removing energetic patterns that are passed down from generation to generation. It seems this family could benefit from this. The world needs protection from their darkness.

You have been dealing with the human form of a black hole. In every way but financial you are the lucky one, because you are not like them.

And you are helping your country avoid a grave error. Thanks for speaking out!

Mary, so sorry you even had to make your statement. Donald is so despicable and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. How sad.

Mary, this just makes my heart and soul cry. What horrendous people you have the misfortune to be related to! Donald is just the most horrific human being ever. I hate everything about him and those in his cult. I am so heartened that Kamala knows what a horrible human being he is and what he plans for our country. She's the light at the end of the tunnel.

Dear God Mary, all I can say for sure is this : Your Dad is with both you and your brother . I have never seen such blatant evil in my life and hope to never . You are a beacon of light in the Trump family . Stay strong , continue the course!

Expand full comment

I agree. I've never seen such evil either. I believe in the power of prayer and have been asking the Sacred to protect America and the world from Donald Trump. Perhaps others on here regardless of one's belief system ask the Universe to protect the world from this evil individual threatening destruction.

Mary's grandfather, Donald's father, owned apartments for rent. It was his practice to tell Black people there were no vacancies even when there were plenty.

All this family bullshit makes me want to give Mary a big hug.
