My respect for Senator Klobuchar has grown immensely since the slim media time she had been allotted until now. I have to thank you and late-night TV hosts for giving her more time and to you for mentioning her. Senator Warnock seems appropriately named. I hope he continues to guide us with his dignified thoughtful much-needed leadership.
Mary says, "The onslaught of bad news, the overwhelming sense of unfairness can be really tough to take. But I promise you the worst thing we could do is look away. Everything is at stake. And knowledge is power." I have several friends who stopped following politics ever since the Oval Office was sullied by Very Bad and Treasonous Ideas. I'm going to share Mary's words with them. We each probably have friends and/or family who could benefit from her gentle admonishment.
I appreciate so much your special mention of Thich Nhat Hanh and the use of a closing quote by him in this summary, and do agree that both Senators deserved the "Good Humans" designation this week.
Thank you for all you do as one of the voices of reason shining above the sea of disinformation. 💜 Stay healthy!
Mary thank you for quoting my post about Sen. Amy Klobuchar. Also, I agree that knowledge is power regarding your #GetTheFascistsOffTheLists posts. We need to know this information to move forward.
Thich Nhat Hanh stood out from so many of the "gurus" from the 70's and later. He was authentic, and walked his talk. Friends who were his followers or students did not join a cult. He was a force in bringing Buddhism to the US.
He spoke at my uni once. I was very moved. One thing he said especially moved me and gave me hope was, “All of us have been victims of wrong perceptions. We can remove terrorism from the human heart.”
Love your closing remarks, Mary. We need to take breaks and nurture our souls but must look our challenges in the face and learn to message assertively.
I’ve been saying for quite a while that Amy Klobuchar should be the Senate Majority Leader. I too, have changed my opinion on her over time (having been concerned about her temperament)-she’s the tough leader needed there right now.
I remember listening to her speech to open her run for president,in a blizzard. As it got worse she and her words became even more powerful!!! She has so much to share!!!
I loved her for her tenacity in the snow! Right then it became a very hard choice. Go with the winning choice I prefer. So I voted for Biden. No regrets but it's time to her to expand her political voice!
Grateful for your attention to the transition of Thich Nhat Hahn.🙏🌹❤️☁️⚖️ A beautiful spirit who modeled and taught us how to be compassionately engaged in every moment. His light can never be extinguished.✨
Thanks Mary for the special mention of Thich Nhat Hanh. He certainly changed my perspective of "mind," and gratitude. Always when hiking which is frequently I chant, "breathing in I calm my mind, breathing out I smile, dwelling in the present moment, I know it to be a wonderful moment," Thich Nhat Hahn.
Warnock and Klobuchar are two of our best. And in the House, Jamie Raskin stands out for me. I'm reading his brilliant book, "Unthinkable," and highly recommend it to anyone interested in a compelling narrative of the run-up to January 6 and a heart-wrenching account of his son's suicide. The book is riveting. He's such a valuable member of the House -- hard to believe he was only elected in 2016.

Sen. Klobuchar is more impressive every time I hear her speak.
And we have to do everything in our power to make sure Sen. Warnock is re-elected.

Thank you, Marian. I hope it helps!

I try. 🙂

Eek! I meant or the one I prefer.
All of this….very well said, as usual. Thank you!
Thank you, Ronda.

I like Klobuchar.
Same.
Thank you Mary for your work and The Good in Us. It's "Exceptionally Good."
Thanks!
Yes. Excellent.
Thank you for challenging us to look for the good, stand strong with hope and face bullshit without fear!
Thank you for lifting up role models to inspire us to do better ourselves!
I really appreciate that, Diana.

He seemed like a genuinely good man.

Klobuchar gets more impressive by the day and we need to make sure Warnock gets re-elected.
My admiration for Rep. Raskin is incalculable.
