Sad and spot on...thank you Mary for pulling so much together. I love your style! We really are lost in the Theater of the Absurd.

Ok, so as I was sitting here watching "The Carpenters: Close to You & Christmas Memories" documentary on PBS (yes, seriously), scrolling through Twitter, and pouting in frustration over the impatience with the DOJ (and all the ongoing investigations that haven't resulted in charges yet), this popped up and I laughed out loud from the very first line about changing the name of the segment. :) This is a very sassy segment tonight, and on point, as always! It's unbelievable how much is seemingly going on all at once, all the time - it's hard to focus on one thing, which I suppose is the point so that our democracy gets pulled out from under us. Ugh. Thanks for sharing, as always. Looking forward to Twofer Tuesday and seeing what new songs I get to look up!

You have obviously overlooked the South African and South American borders with Texas. They're clearly right next to the Florida/ Texas border. Jeez, keep up, Mary!

"We are headed down a very dark road." The dark road started 400+ years ago. We've all been on it the whole time and now many people are looking around for the first time and seeing things they couldn't see. That's the only thing that gives me hope. We can defeat this dystopia if we have the will to do so. It will be as ugly as it has always been.

BTW - I heard this on Sirius XM so if I'm wrong, please let me know. I probably should have checked it out first.

I just found out that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s granddaughter was arrested while protesting for voting rights...WHY WAS THAT NOT ON EVERY NEWS CABLE SHOW IN THIS COUNTRY!! I am so embarrassed and ashamed that his granddaughter is protesting for voting rights in 2021. I am going to email my senators and my reps. about this when I get home from work. Don't they (media) know that there is no free press in an authoritarian country!! They're acting like they are just as stupid as the MAGA crowd...??

Seen from France, it is tempting, we all are tempted to focus on the mess to the point we forget the purpose we need to get out of the mess. While legitimate, indignation alone won't help.

America needs a purpose. America is bigger than Americans. When America is given a purpose Americans can come over their divisions an can achieve great things. (as it was the case during WWII)

We need a cunning plan to achieve this. China and U.S. are entangled in an expensive and proven useless (see Afghanistan debacle) arms race aka pissing contest over Taiwan an other issues. We can replace this by a virtuous contest, a refugee contest. America has a long tradition of welcoming people from everywhere. China is more reluctant to do that. This is China weakpoint. Refugee crisis can either be a plague or a new golden age depend how orderly it is handled or not. Sea level rising will destroy building plots and mother nature ability to sequester carbon. Therefore, the purpose America needs is to build atop artificial icebergs made of Phoenix caissons, affordable, offshore, and self reliant floating cities and farms. Shelter there every person willing to settle in industrialized countries, and afford them sustainable jobs and training, where aquaponic farms, run with marine energy will produce and sell bamboo and papyrus to replace the wood in paper and furniture industry, thus preserving forest's carbon sequestration ability*. All that under protection of U.S. Navy. This is it. A purpose, I said.
