The press was hoping for a repeat of the debate. Instead, President Biden took them to school.
In a ridiculously anticipated press conference at the conclusion of the NATO summit—during which the president has actually been doing the job people suddenly aren’t sure he can do—Biden stood before a press corps which has seemingly forgotten its adherence to journalistic neutrality, and reminded them, and everyone else, why he’s been such a successful president.
While Donald Trump, fascist and kisser of dictators’ asses, hosted the autocratic prime minister of Hungary, Biden discussed foreign policy and NATO’s plans to defend democracy from Vladimir Putin, the enemy of the Western alliance. He called out my uncle for his obeisance to authoritarians. He highlighted his administration’s economic achievements while making it clear that he is in this race to win it. It was the Joe Biden we know—the man who has guided this country out of one of its darkest eras.
But Pres. Biden doesn’t just show up for big press conferences. He shows up for our allies and rallies NATO to stand up to Russia, our collective enemy, that illegally invaded Ukraine and continues to slaughter its citizens. He continues to strengthen our economy and, under his stewardship, prices have gone down for the first time since the pandemic. He continues to create jobs and monthly reports prove that he is the greatest jobs president of the modern era. He has rescued the economy in the wake of the worst administration since Herbert Hoover.
Despite his stutter, despite unreasonable expectations, President Biden can stand in front of the White House press corps and speak at length and in detail about domestic and foreign policy. He may occasionally stumble over a word or mix up a name (just as most of us do on a daily basis), but he never forgets who America stands with; he never forgets America’s values. I don’t believe that Pres. Biden is the only person who can beat Donald. But I do believe he is the person who has the best chance to beat him.
I was at the debate in Atlanta. It was a bad night. We all know it because the corporate media have been obsessed with it to the exclusion of all else. Pres. Biden acknowledged Thursday that he needs to “allay” fears that exist within the party. But he also said something we shouldn’t gloss over — we need to acknowledge that he shows us he can do the job because he is doing the job.
Compare Pres. Biden’s policy remarks to Donald’s nonsensical ramblings—about sharks and electrocution and cannibalistic serial killers. Biden is actually coherent and knowledgeable about foreign policy. Donald calls his former ally, Chris Christie, a “fat pig” and fixates on his affection for Putin and Kim Jong Un, both of whom have committed crimes against humanity.
At his press conference, Pres. Biden reminded us that he is not on the ticket alone. Responding to a question about whether Vice President Kamala Harris is qualified and ready to be president, Biden offered his unequivocal support and gave a very sincere endorsement of Harris’s abilities and her capacity to serve.
It was an important reminder that we have a strong ticket with two strong candidates. Either one of them can beat Donald, the worst, weakest, most traitorous candidate for the presidency in this country’s history.
Pres. Biden knows what he’s doing. So does Donald. Only Biden wants what’s best for the people of this country. Donald wants only what’s best for him—and what’s best for him will destroy this country and get a lot of people killed.
And he will be elected.
The noise will continue.

Why is the media obsessed with pushing Biden out, are they trump supporters? Why isn’t the media piling on trump to step down, do they believe a convicted felon is better to be president then a honest democratic one?
It sickens me, what they are doing along with the winey Dems, who are wringing their hands. Get in lock step like the GOP, and support the one person who has kept America a democracy
