It doesn't matter who he picks. They are all interchangeable, incompetent ass kissers. But it wouldn't matter, he would never let them do anything meaningful anyway - he's the only one with all the power.

My question will always be: whoever the choice is, will they honor their oath to uphold the Constitution to the detriment of their lord and master or not? None of those three would. We must not allow these people in our White House!

No, they wouldn't. Just like many Republican members of Congress, the 6 fascistic members of SCOTUS & Trump himself, they'll break their oath of office.

Sweetie think of democracy in the wider terms of what it stands for globsally Most people are not getting out their books on the Constitution.

Russia not a democracy. Oh Vladdy has elections for show is that the world you want to live in? Though sadly Trump sure does. He envies Vladdy's power.

Expand full comment

Our form of governing is considered a democracy as opposed to a dictatorship, a theocracy, or a monarchy, etc. Countries, like N. Korea are dictatorships and countries ruled by kings/queens are monarchies. Countries, like Saudi Arabia and Iran, as well as Vatican City are theocracies. We fall into the representative democracy, category, hence why we are a considered a democracy for short.

According to U.S. Consitiution.net,

Under Article IV.

"Section 4 ensures a republican form of government (which, in this case, is synonymous with “representative democracy,” and both of which are opposed to a monarchical or aristocratic scheme – the state derives its power from the people, not from a king or gentry) and guarantees that the federal government will protect the states against invasion and insurrection."

Herein lies the debate, but it seems to me that we are divided based on our mutual contempt for each party, so what many of us define us as is based on our own party affiliation rather than acknowledging that we are both.

Expand full comment

Sorry sweetie if you think we are any different than those war mongering propaganda spewing countries you are the one who is confused. Our elections have been a joke for a long time it's just that Trump was ignorant enough to confidently boast about it. There have been others who have won presidency in our country with less votes than their contender. Both sides of isle are working together to keep us divided so we as the American people won't come together and rise up against the thieves who are robbing us blind. My father spent three tourers in Vietnam and before he died in 2020 , with tears streaming down his face, told me he didn't give a Fuck about the flag they would present to us kids at his funeral because that's not the flag he fought for. Both sides of the isle keep us divided so we stay blinded to the fact that they have been selling us out for years. Every great empire has collapsed throughout time always from the inside out before being taken down from the outside. Lady we have been exploding to or years kids like the twin towers. Sorry to say but I have been raised in construction my whole life and anyone who has ever watched construction demolitions can tell you that was all exploded from the inside., but thanks for your intake on the matter.

Here's a small exerpt...

"...Let’s go back to 1984, when David Bogatin, an alleged Russian gangster who arrived in the United States a few years earlier with $3 in his pocket, sat down with Trump and bought not one but five condos, for a total of $6 million — about $15 million in today’s dollars. What was most striking about the transaction was that at the time, according to David Cay Johnston’s “The Making of Donald Trump,” Trump Tower was one of only two major buildings in New York City that sold condos to buyers who used shell companies that allowed them to purchase real estate while concealing their identities. Thus, according to the New York state attorney general’s office, when Trump closed the deal with Bogatin, whether he knew it or not, he had just helped launder money for the Russian Mafia.

And so began a 35-year relationship between Trump and Russian organized crime..."

Donald has been up to his unkempt eyebrows in Russian mafia money since he was a very young man.

Some are more dangerous than others. Some are really conniving. And just like there's a high probability of Biden's VP assuming the presidency during his 2nd term, if he wins, there is also a high probability of Trump's VP becoming President during his 2nd term if he wins. So in that sense, it is very important, because that person will be expected to carry out Project 2025, & that person would actually be less likely (due to being less able) to resist coercion from the people behind Project 2025 to enforce it.

Expand full comment

Yes, Palin was a disastrous pick for McCain.

I think all the people mentioned as potential Trump running mates are terrible, but I have a hard time figuring out which would help & which would hurt. Ramaswamy, MTG, Noem & Stefanik would probably all hurt. Haley may help. Vance I don't know, but I really don't trust him. And another one who is an enigma is Tulsi Gabbard. She could potentially draw from just about anywhere on the ideological spectrum, which is a plus for Trump if he wanted to get people from outside his base. But I'm not sure how strong it is. It was quite weak when she ran as a Democrat in 2020. But she's smooth & cunning, & she is the one who brought down Kamala in 2020. Tulsi herself didn't get much of a boost out of it, but suddenly one of the top contenders was out of contention because of her. Ben Carson may also be an interesting pick who is hard to fathom. Burgum's only draw is with the very rich. Nobody else likes him. So boring! Tim Scott is an obsequious laughingstock. Kari Lake is deplorable. Byron Donalds can be pretty clever & has some pull among a certain faction of conservatives, & he may be able to attract Blacks more than any other prospect. Rubio has a tendency to embarrass himself routinely, but always seems to recover somehow. Lots of 2-faced hypocrites among this bunch!

Expand full comment

The whole bunch of them are trash. For the most part just a bunch of sycophants that I don't think will contribute anything much or take away votes from the Dems. Pence only brought the ones that were already going to vote their way. The only danger I see is Haley. She is also a sycophant but more apparently centrist (she isn't really but can come across that way) and more appealing to the voters that don't like either candidate. She may be a problem if he picks her.

If for some reason, the GOP finally gets a spine & brain & realizes that having a convicted felon, rapist, pedophile, sadonarcissist & traitor as its nominee isn't the wisest idea, they might replace him with Nikki, and if they do, she is likely to beat Biden, unless the Democrats are wise enough to replace Biden with someone of unassailable character & superior competence like Jamie Raskin or Jeff Merkley.

It's so sad that the Republican party, to which I once belonged until Trump, has been infected with such craziness now. What an embarrassment! It began this slide into oblivion during the Obama administration with all of the "birther" nonsense and claiming, in some circles, that Michelle was actually a man, named Michael. We have lost our collective minds now when it comes to politics. Our Founding Fathers have probably been turning in their graves over what this country, that they passed on to each generation, has devolved into and it that has become such a mess.

Expand full comment

Sandy, the problem is that Republicans no longer have any idea what "competence" even looks like. They are so enamored with an incompetent fool, they just don't know. Their memories are being carefully crafted to believe Trump was a good president for them: he wasn't. They are brainwashed that he would be an even better president the second time around; in the throes of dementia, he won't. It is sad how easily scared white people can be misled. They can't even tell when they are doing pretty well considering where they were. They have created a magic world where they were nearly rich back then, when Baby Donnie was in charge. It truly is terribly sad and scary too as well as just another set of lies that fit nicely into the new Republican playbook, lie every chance you get so people won't be able to recognize the truth. It is truly despicable, but no one seems to be able to successfully call them on it.

One of my brothers stuttered. When we were little kids, he was really hard to understand because it was so strong. But he worked on it himself over the years as he grew up and by the time he passed away a couple of years ago (in his 70's), it was almost non-existent, except if he got really riled up about something.

Expand full comment

Hmmmm... I'm seeing Raskin as the potential consensus candidate here, from both those who want Biden to stay in & those who think he should be replaced. Those who know Raskin are mightily impressed with him, & see him as the leading fighter for democracy & against the anti-constitutional conduct of the GOP & SCOTUS. He also serves as the perfect contrast against the Orange Antichrist, & should be able to crush him in a landslide unlike any we've seen since Johnson over Goldwater. And what we need is a landslide to help Democrats win both houses of Congress, discourage attempts by the GOP to steal the election & put away Trump, MAGA, Project 2025 & fascism as the menace to democracy & national cohesion it is today.

If Raskin doesn't feel up to it, having recently overcome a serious cancer scare (although he has already been fearlessly taking on many tough, stressful challenges), then others with similar levels of character, integrity, experience, competence, intelligence, fortitude, eloquence, statesmanship & public approval, like Sheldon Whitehouse, Elizabeth Warren, Jeff Merkley & Pete Buttigieg, are waiting in the wings, while other competent people like Cory Booker, Ted Lieu, Katie Porter, Ro Khanna, AOC, Jay Inslee, Josh Shapiro & Gretchen Whitmer are also potentially good candidates likely to beat either Trump or Haley, or any likely GOP candidate. Now if only the corporate DNC & Democratic establishment finally allow common sense to prevail!

That's wonderful you're doing the volunteer work. And I love the Nerd Avengers, too! And since you're apologizing, worry less about the anger eruptions. That's AWFUL, Susan! How did you survive and become such a kind person after that?

Expand full comment

Ellen, I spent the better part of 40 years in therapy, starting over. It took me a long time to hear the truth about what I had been through, and once I did hear, it was a lot of hard work. But I had a wonderful therapist, a trauma specialist, who loved me through the process and helped me get to where I am today.

Expand full comment

WOW: 40 years?? I'm only at about 15! But yes, healing trauma of an abusive childhood is difficult and heartbreaking work, so I send you a big virtual hug. My siblings haven't done the work and don't understand why I am so angry, but as the oldest child I got the abuse in spades, which they did not. Bottom line: we are two strong and determined women who are capable of doing much good in the world despite what we have suffered. The world is a better place because we both survived, at tremendous cost, and we both continue to do good things to counteract all that disgusting and deadly poison.

Expand full comment

Ellen, we have way too much in common. I, too, am the oldest, and got way more abuse than my sisters. The middle one turned out a sociopath; the youngest, has done some work but in many ways is still a bit of a mess. One of the best parts of doing the work is that you can get past anger, even to a point of forgiveness. I came to understand that my parents were passing on what they knew. And I have realized that in the end I am probably a much better person for having to go through all the process of recovery, than I would have been if I'd had a rosy childhood. I return the hug, and want you to know that I am with you all the way.

Expand full comment

I have lots in common with you both. Both my parents were narcissists, and my father an alcoholic. We moved internationally every 2-3 years from when I was 5. I’m the youngest, but in the dysfunction of the family might as well have been the oldest. Two sisters. The oldest did get a lot of their abuse, but I got dragged around the world the most. And when I went to college, they dumped me at the airport in Bangor, ME, where they were vacationing, and said “see you in a year.” Then they returned to the Philippines.

I’ve been in therapy for decades as well, Susan. I’ve had a lot of tragedy. Wish it had been different, but I agree it’s made me a more empathic person. Mostly. Support and understanding to you both.

Expand full comment

I'm so sorry about the sociopath; that's a tragedy. And yes, my parents also passed along what they knew, but they also watched us suffer when they deliberately inflicted pain, both physical and emotional on us, and I saw in their faces that it PLEASED THEM. That I cannot and will not forgive. Watching a little kid cry because you screamed at her until she broke down is not the act of a loving parent, no matter how you look at it. And I agree that we are both better people for having suffered, but isn't it nice to think of the people we have helped to become better people with kindness instead of abuse? I think of some students I was able to listen to, respect, and help in their studies without being nasty and it makes my heart glad. They knew how I appreciated them and it encouraged their achievements.

Oh yes, so relate on a personal level.

Remember when inciting a riot at our nation’s capitol would have been unthinkable? Remember when rapists went to jail? Those were the days . . .

Expand full comment

I remember! We need to bring those days back.

Expand full comment

No doubt that whoever he picks will be worthless

Expand full comment

Not just worthless: incompetent, stupid, useless, empty-headed, and above all EVIL. The orange turd has no regard for decency.

Expand full comment

Why any person with any self respect would ever want to take that position under Trump is beyond me. Trump has zero loyalty and his vice presidential pick is nothing but Donald’s personal shitscreen.

Expand full comment

Everything Trump touches…dies. Yet..they are so weak, they cannot resist. Weird.

Expand full comment

Bet he liked the puppy killer ..once.

Expand full comment

You are terrific Mary! Thank you.

Expand full comment

With Trump, any VP will be nothing more than a lap dog/paper tiger/stooge.

Expand full comment

Darn, Epstein is dead…he loved that guy, looks like they had a close bond!

Expand full comment

A weird bond those two or perhaps not. Rumpy dragging on Epstein's good looks and I assume charm as it seemed those two were almost attached at the hip. Wonder if Jeffrey was the dominant one?

Expand full comment

They were close until Donnie raped and abused a new teen sex slave. Epstein was furious. He wanted her first (true story).

Expand full comment

Ah so their race to see who could rape the most virgins ruined the friendship. Just like Trump to avoid the rules of I got first dibs.

Yet the testimony of many of those girls who were abused and lived to tell the tale by one or both men seems still widely ignored. Including perhaps someone closer to home & part of why Ivana suddenly ended up dead?

Expand full comment

From the beginning, I thought Trump had something to do with Ivana’s timely death. She was about to be due the last financial windfall from Donald when she was killed. Yes, I completely believe she was killed.

Expand full comment

So there are at least 3 people Trump is suspected of having killed: Ivana, Jeffrey Epstein, & a 12-year old girl named Maria whom Trump supposedly raped.

Expand full comment

Oh..anything is possible when it comes to what Trump will do to others. The golf course burial is BEYOND weird and it is sad that her children went along with that. Children USUALLY love their Mom..but then, these are not normal people.

Expand full comment

When you are raised to worship the mighty dollar. The useless sons can't afford to lose their allowances and inheritance. Rumpy might screw them in the will. If there is true God, Rump will have nothing let to leave.

Expand full comment

Trump the Cheapskate. Ivana earned every penny. She was a large part of the more successful portion of his Trumo Org business and I think at times she was the bigger star or folks tolerated Rump because of her.

Trying to remember was she divorced from him already when he had that big period of six bankruptcies in a short period of time. It is also a tax avoidance vehicle for Rumpy. He was never a patriot, he was all about tax evasions - so much money laundering.

Of course his Russian friends bailed him out from possible bankruptcy when Trump Tower condo sales were going molasses slow so guess who bought several of his condos and few if any ever moved in. Maybe let some lady friends or relatives on trips to NYC . Wash wash rinse rinse.

Helped that Donny was a Democrat for many of those years, I know MAGA likes to act like it never happened. Clearly governors of neither party too interested in putting a real clamp on money laundrying yet when it was so obvious.

I forget the Russia Mafia were silent casino partners. They all hit the East Coast of USA once the Soviet Union disintegrated. I am sure they had a letter of introduction from Vlad!

The war between the Russian Mafia and the Italian Mafia over control of the casinos was brutal until they had a truce. Both sides get a cut. So Donny had to split any profits 3 ways. Right Donny.

Powerful men NEVER listen to girls..or women, in general. It is shameful. Also, wasn’t one of the sons at home when Mom “fell” down the stairs?

Expand full comment

How do you know that's true?

Expand full comment

Research. I found a online. The lawsuit the girl filed against Trump and Epstein described it. The lawsuit had to be withdraw because she and her family and her attorneys and their families received death threats.

Plenty of people have brought it up.

Expand full comment

I do remember in 2016 a case being dropped.

I didn't know the 16 yr. old was the victim.

Expand full comment

You can look up the lawsuit it was filed in California in 2016

Expand full comment

Sounds probable. Wonder why the MSM ignores it?

Expand full comment

Lost his wing man or was Donny the wing man or spectator?

Expand full comment

Makes you wonder did someone make sure Epstein was dead, hmmm, who could that have been? Or was there any indication Epstein found out he was to be arrested and took the coward's way out?

Expand full comment

No way Epstein took his own life…too many things in that scenario that don’t make sense.

Expand full comment

Especially when Barr had just visited him. “Visited”? Were they friends, too? Sure. You betcha.

Expand full comment

Epstein was already arrested. His death occurred in jail even though he was supposed to be under 24-hour surveillance.

Expand full comment

Not TOO suspicious, right? After BARR visited? They were not friends, too, were they?

Expand full comment

I don't think Barr was particularly chummy socially with either Rump or Epstein. But he still is a good old warrior for the Federalist Society cause. Got his children already planted in key position of the US government.

I have a strong suspicion it was Trump who had Epstein eliminated.

Way past time for the MSM to take up THIS interesting subject. Epstein and Trump…Pedo Bros.

Wonder if most pedophiles tend to have been victims first.

Oh, Mary, I think the orange turd needs a VP who is his exact shadow: how about Eric or Donald, Jr? Has to be a bigoted, misogynistic, egomaniacal, megalomanical, incompetent smelly pile of feces to match the big turd who would be his running mate.

Expand full comment

He thinks he's a monarch. Why not? Keep it all in the family.

Expand full comment

Well, the Not-So-Supreme Court has anointed him to be KING OF AMERICA. Thus, he is even more royal than ever. The Mad King. Just in time for our Fourth of July celebrations, no less.

Expand full comment

It won't even occur to DT's VP pick to ask himself what will happen if he chooses the Constitution and the American people over his boss. That type of evaluation isn't in the Veep candidate's orbit. They are so enamored with DT they can't see straight. They are like affection starved puppies just waiting for their master to recognize and approve of them. The whole lot of them are pathetic and nauseating. Can you believe in this day and age that grown men striving for public office act this way? But, then again, that's the way DT likes it. They are easy to control.

Expand full comment

Isn't it possible that one or more of them dislikes him and wants to be VP in the hope that Trump will die during his term?

Expand full comment

While both of those things may be true, it doesn’t make them heros or decent humans.

Expand full comment

You got a point there!

Expand full comment

But they should know better bc they were all witness to what he tried to do to his last vice president. Duh.

Trump had better watch his back!

Wishful thinking.

either that or someone will make it happen.

Vlad.

Oh, for sure. Will they be serving him special tea?

Actually, it was something of a surprise that Pence didn't endorse the man who attempted to murder him. For most people in that situation, it would be not be a surprise, but Pence, with his previously unheard of level of sycophancy, had debased himself to such a degree that one could not be sure that he wouldn't continue to do so even after Trump tried to murder him.

Expand full comment

I too am surprised that Pence didn't throw his full weight behind the Trump campaign. After all, remember he prayed to the Lord and was able to forgive Trump for having ordered his murder. What a guy!

What a moron

Nah, probably behind closed doors "Mother"said:

"That m-f-er just tried to have you killed!"

His wife undoubtedly stopped him. She had had enough.

More likely “Mother” (Pence’s wife) put her foot down.
