I was looking at furniture last month and the salesclerk told me in the middle of my questions about an easy chair if I knew what was really going on in the world? He said Trump was sent by god. Not the God I said and walked away. I nearly threw up.
Driving to a doctor's appointment in Charlottesville the day after the riot, I stopped in to the LOWES Home Improvement store on my way down Rt. 29. When I walked in, at the very front of the store, the first thing I saw was a HUGE display of TIKI TORCHES!!!! I guess they were a big seller the day before when Tiki TORCHES lit the night while the white supremacists cried out "JEWS WILL NOT REPLACE US!" ...and a 35 peaceful protesters were injured and one woman murdered. My stomach turned over at the thought that employees had been instructed to move all those Tiki Torches forward to be more readily available to grab, pay and go. My Jewish, Hungarian- born father told me that one night, a train arrived at his town carrying soldiers who were supposed to rough up the Jews and TORCH Jewish homes Somehow, the news arrived before the train... and all the Jews showed up at the train platform with whatever makeshift weapons they could grab... pitchforks, and shovels, knives, and axes..no guns; Jews were forbidden to carry them. The soldiers arrived. The doors slid open.. The soldiers, momentarily confused, saw they had lost the element of surprise, and they would not be having their fun with the Jews. After a few moments, the doors closed and the Jews were safe for another day. The Holocaust was still 10 years away, and CHARLOTTESVILLE was 90 years in the future.
