By a stroke of bad luck I wound up at a conservative Catholic law school, and my Con law professor was very active in the Federalist Society. Circa 1981. They’ve been playing the long game at least since then. I think that experience was singularly important in my having given up the idea of practicing law, although I did finish what I started and picked up a JD. In the end, I found that at least knowing how the game is played made the experience, on balance, worthwhile.

Can you say what you ended up doing, career wise ? That's a lot of time committed to that degree.
I ended up working as a regulator in environmental protection, both at sea and on land.
