CALLED IT: Meadows LOST Appeal

Mark Meadows just got his request to escape Fani Willis’ Georgia courtroom REJECTED by an appellate court – for two major reasons, just as we predicted. And now he’s screwed. Read on.👇

Hate to say I told you so, Mark! 🤣

As attorney Joe Gallina and I said would happen, Mark Meadows’ request to get his racketeering case out of Fani Willis’ hands – hoping to get a Republican-appointed judge who might be more sympathetic to public servants helping Donald commit alleged crimes – was soundly rejected.

Knowing the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, I knew this was coming. Meadows, apparently, did not.

The Judgement

Removal from a specific trial jurisdiction can indeed happen – for current officials accused of crimes committed as part of their official duties. Too bad for Mark that:

1. Thanks to 2020 voters, Meadows is a former official, not a current one. Let’s keep him out again in 2024!

2. Charges against Meadows – allegedly trying to steal the election for Donald – were in no way part of his "official" duties. As Circuit Judge Robin Rosenbaum said, “According to (Mark Meadows), it seems like everything was within his official duties… That just cannot be right.”

I guess Mark will have to visit LinkedIn, and take “overthrowing elections” off his Chief of Staff resume!

Victory

Time to celebrate this sweet holiday gift from the courts. This should give us all hope that our justice system can and often does work.

Meadows can’t escape these racketeering charges now.

So… say hello again to Fani Willis, Mark! She’s got a seat waiting for you, in court.

Even better news: If Donald were ever to become president again (which cannot happen), Donald will NOT be able to pardon Mark Meadows, OR himself. A president can only pardon people on federal charges – not state charges like attempting to overthrow the Georgia election results.

One more thing:

Reporting on attempts to overthrow our elections, like Meadows’ disastrous decision to test the 11th Circuit, took a lot of time, energy and research - not to mention the personal consequences. But I refuse to stand by and watch Donald and his puppets destroy our democracy!
