Thank you for the emergency art. Very calming in a chaotic time.

The things upsetting to me today:

Bill Barr's book being #1

Viktor Orbán winning the election in Hungary

There is a very large socioeconomic class in America that is activated and ready to vote for an autocrat and I don't know what to do about that?

The scenes out of Bucha are horrifying. The level of depravity the Russians are showing is beyond my comprehension.

Apparently this is normal protocol for them. We just haven't paid attention before Ukraine :( Some very good analyses saying a) if you're anti-Russian you're a nazi and b) we must eradicate all nazi's. Ergo we must kill all Ukrainians. So sick. Russia is the ultimate example of "1984" mind control merging with terrorism.

Not to mention, the ability to document it, electronically. It's been the vandal's MO for thousands of years. Definitely not a new phenomenon.

Mary, thank you for all you share! With regards to

Bill Barr & his book I will just throw this out. Last year he received a major Catholic award as an example of an exemplary catholic. He belongs to an ultra conservative Catholic group ,Opus Dei. This group includes three Supreme Court Justices , 1 of whom is -surprise-Justice Thomas & Wife. I think you might want to research the giant influence they have ,not only on Washington's power players, but around the country and world! That might be why it's not obvious that Barr's book doesn't look like it was sold in bulk. It's amazing Biden was able to get elected when, during the election, many Catholic pastors spoke against him from the pulpits because of Abortion & him being a democrat!!!

I'm a dual 🇺🇸/🇨🇦 and this hate has seeped across the border in ways that disgust me. Please keep sharing such important information! One day I'll have my daughter post pics of our beautiful cats. She is light years ahead of me in any tech "stuff"!

Just wondering if we no longer do ‘good human of the week’ ? I really enjoy it and it helps me actively look for the positive amidst the weekly quagmire of dire and depressing news and happenings.

Expand full comment

Yes I want the Good Human of the Week to return as well. I've loved having the opportunity to file away the great things people are doing throughout the week and then choose one among my own list to post here. It's also helped my mental health.

Yes! I thought I missed it,but if I were to name just one this week it would be Ali Velshi because this man has shown his humanity every day since the war broke out and he's

not only grown .People sense it . I'm grateful for him because he doesn't leave any truth untold,if he can share it!

Can we talk about how many hours Ali Velshi works? Seems like every time I turn on MSNBC, there is Ali, even though it’s early morning and he was on a midnight the night before. This man has a work ethic that is stronger than steel. Hats off to Ali Velshi!

Yes! I just hope he gets a break now and then because it’s easy to see how open he is with those he speaks with and the viewers!

I agree although it's going to be President Zelenzkyy & Ukranian resistors/military every week until Ukraine wins the war so...??? :)

I think we could have a new winner each week. Certainly many past winners will continue to do wonderful things each week. But lord help us if there is a shortage of people doing good human things each week …. And it doesn’t have to be celebrities/politicians/famous people either IMO. Just my thoughts. It’s important to search for good in times when it clearly takes some searching. Plus ‘good human’ doesn’t mean ‘best human’ - there is no such thing!

Mary, thank you. I need these lists and emergency art. My dog Fitbit makes sure I eat, sleep, and go out for walks. Waldo Kitty is in charge of all above, so that part is going well.

The artwork you have of the moon in the trees reminds me of The Killing Moon By Echo & The Bunnymen. A godforsaken Company called "Donald Trump For President 2024" was a clear highlight! All we can do is register, organize & Bring A Blue Wave 2022! As Hard as it seems, Many Factors play out in next six months! We Must keep our eyes on the B all. Your Fan, John

Thank you for what you're doing, as my dad would say, by calling a spade a spade. It matters. People never like recognizing evil. As a society, we've been turning away from it (or attempting to) for 6 really long years, and we're exhausted. So it seems, we're beginning to normalize &/or accept it. I don't fear much, but I fear this is happening. And it's why what you're doing is so important. You're speaking the ugly & unimaginable truth, that fascism has taken a strong root in our country.

I'm grounded by my faith. But that grounding is only as strong, as my stand against evil. Your work takes a very strong stand. And that really matters.

Love the art. Reminds me a bit of Maxfield Parrish's work. And, as always, thank you for all you do!

Tuesday is about to start with your LIVE show, dearest Mary! Only minutes to spare; in this hurley- burley world before THE MARY TRUMP SHOOOOW therefore, keep repeating my improved definition for the noun trumpery ... "A tedious argument of insidious intent!" Now am saying it two times FAST. Here is your emergency chocolate in thanks, Mary.
